Madden Jr was kinda my odds-on favourite before reading this. Seems like a good guy, just maybe not right fit for the MTL market and a GM position.

like I said, Madden is like a Gorton 2.0 but with less experience. they probably want someone who brings a different skillset.

I could see the following take place. we'll know as soon as the GM is hired.

Molson - Predisent
reporting to him, 2 vps : Gorton and the next GM (that we already know)

Gorton who will act as a senior advisor to the GM, but also manage amateur scouting, drafting and players development. lots of work there, crucial work.

next GM, who will manage the team, trades, contracts, UFAs, pro scouting.
