Well not sure we will see a new game day blog so just gonna post my thoughts here and get set for tonight

Next up is taking on the Vegas Golden Knights. The Knights spoiled the Kraken home opener eeking out a 4-3 win. They also limp in missing key players and should be in as surly a mood as the Kraken, as Vegas comes off a 5-2 loss to the Red Wings.

The first meeting was a battle. After digging themselves a 3-0 hole, the Kraken mounted a comeback. Pacioretty with a pair bookended a Marchesault goal which had Vegas in control. Donato and McCann answered back mid frame of the 2nd. Geekie would then tie it up in the 3rd.
35 seconds after Geekie tied it up, Stephenson got the questionable game winner. Going to the net, he deflected the puck off his skate and in, in what was a questionable kicking motion to many.

The stats show Seattle and Vegas were pretty even, but Seattle came out to start the game sloppy. They dug themselves the big hole. Vegas comes in and despite injuries is still dangerous. Ask Montreal. Lehner in net gives them a solid chance to win as well and looks like it is his net for the game.

The Kraken will not have Appleton and Hakstol stated Donato is day to day. The news isn’t all bad though with possible additions coming soon, though not for the game versus Vegas. McCann is out with the Covid protocol but could be back Thursday vs Anaheim and the start of the 6 game home stand. Blackwell, and Johansson, may be returning soon. Both have resumed full practices coming off their own injuries. Blackwell especially, making his debut, would add another center up the middle who has a FOW% of 51. Johansson also plays center and wing and can play up and down the lineup.

Hakstol indicated the Kraken starter would be decided today but haven’t seen it announced. Did see Donato listed day to day upper body and projected lines had Johansson back in. Soucy third pairing with Dunn too and Fleury out but Lauzon back in with Larsson.

Excellent post friend. I wouldn't hesitate to call it "blog worthy".

I came here to see what the traffic was like. 26 posts isnt too bad until you see its just one Richard head monopolizing the conversation with his poopty takes.

Game on. So far back and forth and teams pushing the pace. Kraken had a good shift hemming Vegas in who got sloppy in their end but nothing came of it. Going to be a grinding game tonight here.

Stephenson gets an unsportsmanlike for grabbing the visor.

PP chance but Kraken are just the worst PP in the league so they need to make something happen here.

EBERLE!!!! 1-0 lead! Found the rebound far side and just right place, right time!! 7 goals in 7 games.

Kraken strike first blood!

Donskoi pings it off the iron! Almost a 2-0 lead

Seattle is playing much better in their own end with coverage and blocking shots, and are generating more o-zone time tonight than Vegas early. Definitely improved from last game

Driedger with a beauty glove save!! Big stop late in the last 40 seconds there.

25.8seconds though Pietrangelo's shot finds the back of the net and Vegas cracks 'em and ties it up.

Last five minutes Vegas really came to life started pressing.

Another solid start for Seattle to the 2nd period with a few quick early chances, just can't get shots on net or Lehner makes a solid save.

And another PP chance for the Kraken

Another Kraken PP. Vegas called for faceoff violation

Good call by the official there on that one, very clear and straight forward even if DeBoer doesn't like it

Gourde blocks a shot and hobbles off hurt. Now that could really be not good news

And goes right from bench to dressing room too

Back on bench and back out on the ice! Freeze it up and keep playing!

GOURDE!!!!!!!!

30 seconds left in the 2nd and Donskoi outworks em along the half boards to the corner and boom Gourde in the slot to snap it by Lehner!

2-1 Kraken!!!

UGLY!!! 16 seeconds left and Vegas just ties it right back up. Held to just 3 shots and tip in front off the shot and Driedger couldn't smother it and there it is.

Tied after 40, Kraken were just dominant in the 2nd. Lehner was fantastic keeping the Knights in but to get the lead and blow it right away before the period can end just hurts. Outshot em 10-4, outhitting them, all the chances and just.... 2-2 tie.

And there it is. Doesn't show up out of the gate of the 3rd and Theodore with a nice shot 3-2

And then a bad penalty gives the Knights a PP.

And 4-2. Knights just take over getting a PPG of their own.

Brutal, just brutal start to the 3rd. 1:31 of game time and 3 goals coughed up ruining all that hard work put in earlier.

Pulling the goalie way early and barely avoided the empty net and then a second attempt hits the post!!!

Not a thing going right here at all for the Kraken.

Gourde is not on the bench either here and not playing and they could really use him about now.

VEGAS PENALTY!!! Delay of Game.

PP means 6 on 4.

Gio takes down Stephenson and draws the interference penalty and that is going to just be game over now.

WTH was that Donskoi? Just floats it into the middle to turn it over?!

That was just brutal to lose 4-2. Kraken had such a strong game rolling but didn't show up for the start of the 3rd and just self inflicted wounds yet again.

Could end up being Eberle’s highest scoring season if he keeps it up.
