It's debatable who "knew" and who "didn't know" and contextually what that all means. But Captain Serious Best Captain in the NHL didn't have the pulse of his team, allowed other players to harass Beach and did little to nothing to take them to task is not what a captain should stand for.

I'm not saying to kick every remaining player out of the league. I'm not even saying to rip the C off. They should use this as a learning experience and better themselves and the league. And take some (frank)ing blame for not helping a team mate in need.

Jonathan Drouin isn't the captain of the Montreal Canadiens. Maybe he could've made a difference in the cup finals, but that's going to be on his list of regrets.

Jack is a tough call. I want to see him healthy as a person but he is contractually obligated to listen to the team doctors. Jack doesn't seem to care if his antics get less return for the team that made him the face of the franchise. In reality the fans are the ones being punished the most by this situation

It's not my style to write off prospects. Ignoring a horrid start is a challenge, he has the talent to right the ship, but there's clearly something wrong with him. He's a better goalie than this.

He is not contractually obligated to listen to team doctors. He's contractually obligated to either accept their recommendation or prove that his method is better, or not play at all. His "antics" center around wanting the correct surgery for his whole life.
