Honestly, why all the posts about a defenseman who isn't here anymore?

Here's something to chew on that isn't a former defenseman: this Sabre team will make the playoffs this year. And they'll get in comfortably. One of the nice things about this season is it's going to put in perspective how much more important having solid goaltending is than an overrated center.

Woof. That's a take and a half.

Goaltending has to hold up first. And secondary scoring. And how good the defense has been.

Would love for this team to make the playoffs but its a long shot still.

Adams has done everything human to destroy his trade value..
Yet, he remains strong in his resolve of holding the line on his expected return (in a relative way)...
His team is playing very well for their coach..
Which, IMO puts a big Red Flag on Jack - - - he must have been a if not THE cancer in that locker room.

I think the locker room cancer argument is completely BS.

This team has not had a real head coach the whole time he's been here.

The amount of injuries we had over those seasons was substantial.

The lack of secondary scoring.

The way the team was built to play.

The lack of actual defense till now.

Imagine a happy, healthy Eichel in this system


Probably wasn't the right leader (O'reilly in hindsight was the Captain) but to say he was a cancer in that room is complete bs

Imagine this guy on our team? I have a five-year f****** nightmare about it. It was the worst era hands down in Buffalo Sabres history. And you can count the number of games Jack eichel dominated in his entire career on two hands. You can count the amount of hat tricks he has without an empty-net goal with one finger. The same finger he deserves from every Sabres fan.

Color Me unimpressed. At his very best Jack eichel couldn't take this team past 25th place in the NHL. At his best maybe he's the 10th best center in the NHL and the worst captain in the NHL. If I may paraphrase a New York Mets radio announcer, he was a net negative

I know were all mad at the guy for talking sh!t about our organization. I myself hated it.

But to call the guy a locker room cancer when pretty much every guy that has come in and out of that locker room through his tenure got along with him very well.

And Overrated? He carried a shell of a team for the better part of 6 seasons.

Some posters say he was the reason for Rein"fart"'s success.

I know he got Skimmer 40 goals.

But yeah he's overrated

And Jeff Skinner was a goal scorer before he ever met Jack eichel, and spent the last two seasons playing with Jack eichel not scoring goals. you can check his game by game log on that. Jeff played with Jack his last 2 years? Im pretty sure Olof took his place on that line.

Skinner would of been worth at least some of that 9 million Jack got him if he stayed on that line for the last 2 years.

Skinner played over 30 games with eichel in the last two seasons easily. He couldn't score that's why he got demoted from the line and the power play
