That's false.

He wants his surgery. The team won't let him have it. The team wants a surgery he doesn't want. It's an extremely significant surgery. Both parties are legally within their rights. Jack is in his prime and an elite hockey player. Delaying his chance to play is absolutely, unequivocally, zero benefit to him.

Bolded is what I have issue with. Delaying indefinitely is not within Jack's rights. My main point is that the team and league should have stepped in by now and enforced the cba that the player has agreed to play by, which states he can have the teams' surgery of choice OR go to medical arbitration. I'm not a caveman lawyer, but does it state somewhere that if a player under the cba disagrees with part of the cba then he gets to hem and haw indefinitely while the team swings in the wind? No. He can go to arbitration and personally I am frustrated this hasn't been done yet. All the other stuff about His neck, his body is just blah blah blah. Disagreements like this are exactly why Arb is in the CBA.
