Or is he still shaking off the stamkos shoulder to the chops. It did bloody his mouth. Maybe a night with a few less minutes is a good thing?

they've got the fundamentals of meatball hockey down and if you look who was involved in anaheim's two goals, they're all wiley vets who know how to find and take advantage of opposition weaknesses

Dahlin will never be the defenseman he was sold as. just have to accept he's very gifted from a skill set standpoint, but he's not great or even good in his own end. enjoy the stick handling, dangles, and occasional great pass... you're not getting anything else.

he is what he's always been, but it's still way to early to write him off

It's amusing to me that we use the phrase "write him off", like he may be the second coming of Jeff Jillson or something.

He may not live up to the billing as a first overall pick...or maybe he will. Players develop at their own pace.

I'm not writing him off, but any thought that this guy is a pale shadow of Nick Lindstrom, Ray Bourque, Paul Coffey or even Phil Housley has left my mind completely. He's a top-end skillset defenseman with a great mind for offense and zero toughness to his game. I don't think it will ever hurt to Sabers to have this guy on their team but he's never going to be a shutdown top-pairing defenseman.

I've got no problem with playing for one point here and hoping for the best in OT

My thought is the lead is already gone, and they had no business being up one goal let alone 3 at any point in this game. This is the worst game they played all season to my eyes. If they sneak a point I'm going to be happy.
