It's a bad night when Matheson is the best Penguin on the ice. |

Yea lol. He did attempt to do it all himself and almost pulled it off. He'll have his world beater games then other nights he'll look like an AHLer lol |

To me, Poulin doesn't look anywhere close to being an NHL player. Plodding skating and iffy hands.
POJ gets over powered easily. Don't know if he'll ever have the bulk to be a regular NHL player.
DOC should definitely make the team. I'm not sure what he'll do in regular NHL games, but he's earned a spot based on performance. |

I'm not convinced Poulin is an NHL player at all. I think Bjorqvist and Hallander at least show some semblance of decent two-way play. Aside from one nice turnover he created in the first, Poulin just a ghost out there.
I don't agree on POJ. I think he's showing a lot of good stuff, but I'm concerned about his passing.
DOC should 100% be in the lineup opening night. |

JMO....
POJ skating is good to very good. I think his passing is decent enough. He just gets mauled trying to protect the crease. So easily shrugged off.
Hallander is at least a couple of years away. You see flashes, but he's not ready.
Puustinen looks like he has NHL wheels. I'll be interested to see how he develops.
Legare might be a good trigger guy. Hard to tell with his linemates tonight. Nobody is creating much. I'd like to see him with a good setup guy. His skating was kind of funky/awkward last time around. That's definitely improved.
From my eyes, Poulin doesn't have one skill that stands out unfortunately. Was expecting more out of him.

I think Matheson has looked really good, too. Not to mention DeSmith has been MUCH better.

DeSmith looks a bit rusty at the moment. Perhaps the core surgery kept him off the ice for most of the summer. Hopefully, it’s just a short term issue. With Jarrys playoff performance, we can’t have two shaky tenders. The first two months are going to be critical and we can’t fall on our faces due to average at best goaltending.
I am still baffled that Hextall never addressed the elephant in the room over the summer. |

Well he is a goalie legend and privy to everything behind the scenes, Jarry's demeanor off the ice and personal life to a degree. So these could be factors in why he thinks things must of us dont haha. |
