Vasi for Matthews' mustache, straight up.

Matthews' mustache earns $10m of his salary. Don't you have enough cap problems as it is?

Is that what they're calling Marner now?

He's likely a 1B with Campbell as the 1A, presuming that Campbell can continue to play at the same level he played at last year (.921% regular season; .934% in playoffs) or at least approaching it - last year was exceptional.

I'm happier with Mrazek taking his turns over the way Andersen had been playing here. Watching his svp fall from a consistent .918 to .909 and then .895 . . . I think he was done in Toronto.

Really from Mrazek, I just want .910 - .915, which is largely where he's been. I like his mask, too, and that counts for something!

If Campbell keeps that up, the Leafs are in good shape.

If he doesn't, and you have to lean on Mrazek, then cross your fingers. He's a good goalie in spurts, but I wouldn't feel great about him being my starter.

We'll put the stache on Stamkos' face right before we ship him off to Robidas Island until the playoffs.

Dvorak isn't a player that I see driving his line.

He does have good size, good on draws, smart player and he can finish quite well so playing with good players at the time made him look better than he was at the time.

Not that he's not a good player, but he's not a top line player like the other two.

I'm eager to see what he can do with better wingers than Tyler Pitlick next year though.

20 to 25 goals on a line with Suzuki is a reasonable expectation.

Aside that both players are centres and won't play together, sounds about right.

But Habs have a pretty good depth on the wings so he'll play with good players still.

Is it costly for you to get those videos from the rink you play at?

I always thought it would be cool to see tapes of our games but they were asking for way too much for it when I asked 2 years ago.

I bought 2 cameras (Polaroid Cubes which I don't even think they make anymore) and the suction cup mounts and put them up behind the nets (on the outside of the glass) before the zamboni is off the ice / game starts and just hit record.

On a full charge they record 90 minutes of good quality footage and sound so after the initial investment the only cost is my time and effort.

The real issue is Susziki’s serious lack of hockey smarts.

I was a little shocked they gave him 3 years. I figured they'd land a 2-3M back up type for a year or two.

I have to think they like his fancy stats. Apparently the stats show he's great at stopping high quality stuff but pretty mediocre with everything else.

I think they want to push a real competition between the two. I don’t expect both to be with the team next year.

Yup, I was feeling pretty good about my luck before today. Now with the new SpikeVax name it's clear that history will show that we won.

I assume this cements our position on the top deck of Gate's alien mother ship. I'll be ordering 'furniture' soon.

Nah; Marner was a year younger and scored 44 points in 18 playoff games on route to a championship and playoff MVP award. Tkachuk was even younger than Marner and scored 40 points in the playoffs. Marner and Tkachuk drove that line, to the benefit of Dvorak.

This is what I have heard and read as well.

Which seems kind of stupid. Who cares if he makes a great save if he turns around and gives up a stinker.

But we will see, I didn't think a middling goalie would cost that much in terms of dollars and term - but Freddie got 4.5/yr so...I guess Mrazek's deal is fair value.

That's awesome. This is the kind of poop us old guys clinging to our youth should be talking about.

How to have fun.

I've been begging my wife to let me build a half-pipe in my backyard. She hates the idea ....mostly b/c my backyard is 16' wide.

He's not the starter, Campbell is.

You're going to be pleasantly surprised by Mrazek.

I hope. The platoon thing doesn't always work great for him. Typically it seems like the heavier his workload the better he plays. Tends to fall asleep if he's not busy.
