What if we end up with Kadri after all this lol
Kadri for georgy+ - Slimtj100
If it's not Eichel I have no clue what the plan is, could be anyone at this point |

Either the job is likely over his head, or Dolan is standing full time over his head, in demanding he only acquire predominantly toughness in talent, instead of some other needs, which start with needing additional cap space when looking ahead to next Summer's potential cap hell, before acquiring the help of key needed at center. - RangerSaver
Who, in your opinion, do you believe, the Rangers should have acquired, seeing the deals today, I will hang up and listen, |

Getting Kadri would be like getting Matt Cooke. |

At this point most of the big free agents have signed, so no point in following like crazy. If a trade happens probably won't be any time soon. I may step away for a bit |

I think the plan is to let Panarin and Strome do their thing, hope that Laf/Kakko become the elite forwards they were drafted to be next to Zibanejad, and round out the bottom 6 to be a harder to play against team.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the roster we see today is what we have on opening night. I don’t think Strome is that much of a liability or issue that Drury plans on upgrading him no matter the cost. |

My post's meaning was for Drury to acquire center help for them at the NHL level, with their rebuild officially having ended; as opposed to acquiring any center prospect of their's. That's why I included Miller in now a full one year experienced young NHL d'man as a possible piece they may have to sacrifice to acquire experience in center help from them. - RangerSaver
I got that, but the only NHL proven center on the Kings' roster is Kopitar. All the rest are inexperienced or prospects. |

The fact is that Drury's hands are tied financially, except for making minor natured moves. Drury's lack of "significant in nature" free agent signings, (except if Nemith fits those 3 words in quotes for you); and his lack of the significant ones in trades, (outside of his loss received for Buch as if it were a salary dump of his new expected deal); are all due to him looking ahead in fear to the greater cap hell they would encompass next Summer, starting with Norris Trophy winner, Adam Fox alone likely receiving an 8 year deal at $9M to $10M per year. |

Tampa loses an entire line of grinders. Who are they going to replace them with? They can have the Rangers' former used "sandpaper," Brett Howden for starters |

See my 2:53 pm reply to Ryan ("rentz"); and my earlier reply to Jimbro's mention of a source questioning why the Kings would have even needed to sign Danault.
A center is the one piece I felt they needed most. Dvorak would have been adequate, with I wanting no part of Eichel's $10M AAV alone, given the cap trouble they face next Summer through re-signings and more. Drury likely attempted to make a trade to acquire one, but has been unable to as of yet; especially since he made Strome available in being a 1 year away potential UFA, who could command $6M annually. But Drury can't trade him until first assured he has acquired a replacement for him. |
