The LA Kings have signed the forward to a six-year contract. - jimbro83

I think we end up with a trade.
What about this...since Zib was originally drafted there, what about Norris for Zib and that allows us to get Eichel |

I do like the idea of adding him as long as it's not the only C move. |

It better happens soon, I can see it now Rangers wait this out to long and miss out on all Free agent targets then Eichel gets traded elsewhere - TPC
Drury's excessive time spent in "STEALTH MODE," as termed by Elliotte Friedman, in checking in daily on the latest teams interested in Eichel, along with seeing if GM Adams price would lower significantly, is likely one reason why Buch was dealt for a big loss of a return, and others rumored dealt like Strome are still Rangers.
Where were the other teams who were rumored interested in Buch, like the Preds for just one? They likely became impatient with Drury delaying them, since Buch was one piece in part that Buffalo agreed to accept in a trade for Eichel. Drury could have also feared an arbitrator's ruling on Buch if it led to that; in looking ahead to next Summer with the extra cap hell his team would be in, even if he should not acquire Eichel, but still re-signed Buch.
Overall, Drury's hands are tied looking ahead to next Summer's potential cap hell with ones starting with Fox and Zib (unless dealt) due new larger deals; the Norris Trophy winner Fox rumored at 8 years/ $9M to $10M AAV with the bar having been set by at least 4 top NHL d'men thus far in the past 10 days. Two summers from now, LAF for one will also be due his share of wealth. |

What's interesting to me about Danault signing: if he was unsure about his place in Habs depth chart, can he really be confident about his long-term role up the middle on a team with Kopitar and Byfield and Turcotte? Hmmm |
