Kraken Willing to Part with #2 pick For Eichel. Also, Next Year's #1 +?
I am hearing Seattle has had discussions with Buffalo about Eichel. They are willing to give the #2 pick to get this done. Not enough though. The Question is what else do the Kraken have? If Seattle were to offer up THIS year's first-round pick and NEXT year's first-round pick, along with Goalie Vitek Vanecek for Eichel, should the Sabres take the deal? Should Seattle make that offer? |

Seattle would be misguided to get Involved In the Eichel mess. |

Is Seattle trying to tank the organization from day1? Yikes. Eichel is a talented player, but that's too much, too soon.
Perhaps they should have chosen better in the expansion draft when they had the chance. |

This makes absolutely no sense for Seattle so it must be an E4 according the Eklund.

Are you asking whether it makes sense for Seattle to trade #2 OA, plus next year's 1st which will be a heavy lotto favourite...for Eichel.
Can you clarify whether that is your own trade idea or whether actual sources are saying this? Ronnee Frances should be fired on the spot for even considering that. |

(E5)!?
The Sabres would take that deal in a heartbeat. Power/Beniers this year next years 1st AND a goalie? Would be SHOCKED if Seattle did that. |

Doubt Buffalo is getting a better deal. I'd expect Seattle to be a weak team this year so at least a lottery pick next year. It would be hilarious if Eichel went from one organization that struggles to make the playoffs to another that equally struggles. |

Seattle would not use up an expansion pick to take Price, but they are willing to spend two ENTRY-draft picks to take Eichel?

Price is on the down side with a terrible contract, Eichel has upside w a fair contract. Not even remotely comparable scenarios |

Eichel is 9 years younger so not really comparable. |

Yes its shocking. Hence my question to Ek whether this is merely his own trade idea versus something that actual sources have confirmed. |

Love how the rumor just under this is how "Buffalo not getting enough traction on Eichel"!

Eklund has no sources. Kevin Allen is maybe the only one on this site that might have legit sources. |

That seems like a good package especially if you added D-man like Lauzon or H. Fluery. |

They still would need 3 wingers to fill out the top 6 bc that expansion draft was full of 3rd and 4th liners with Eberle as the only proven goal scorer on the wing(that is not to say other players cant step up ala William Karlsson). We don't know when Gourde will be back, Eichel has baggage in the form of health issues. If the plan was to leave cap space and see what you have with this team as it came out after the draft, the better bet would be to draft Beniers who seems to project as a true 2(which they need) and they can look to acquire a #1 be it via trade or Free Agency next year after Francis sees what he has and feels they are ready to step up. I also have read next year's #1 is projected to be much better then any of the cluster at the top of this years draft. You would forfeit an almost lock to be a lottery pick, to acquire a player that could miss most or the entire year with one hit, then see your lottery pick go to Buffalo(and then to another team after Buffalo messes that up too in a few seasons).
Seattle seems to be taking a different path than Vegas, Eichel at high cost with injury uncertainty should not be a starting stone in laying that path. |

Vanecek is fishing on Buffalos part. The Sabres need a Goalie and maybe they're not sold on Ullmark so they are looking at big commodities right now and Vanecek just signed a really economic deal for his skill. So why not ask for him!
However,
I think The Sabres would be happy to have the 1st and 2nd this year and another first next year. If they are to let go of their franchise player they will need a new one what better chance will they have to do that.
Keep Negotiating Kevyn Adams its going to be a fun ride.

If I'm Buffalo, YES, get that move done. The IMPORTANT part is NEXT years First round pick.
Eichel is good, but not that good to carry Seattle into the playoffs, thus, giving Buffalo a superior % odds to land #1 overall for 2022 and Shane Wright.
To have #1 and #2 in THIS years draft, is great, you get the D man who can go back to college to improve, along with a forward.
LOVE this scenario. DO IT. |

I think the Kraken should wait for the price to drop. They are going to be one of the only organizations that will be able to easily take on Eichel's salary. Wait, the price will drop. I wouldn't give up the #2 pick this year...but would easily give up the first rounder next year as it is very unlikely to be a top 10 pick. So a 1st, Vanecek, and a bit more would likely work. Eichel is elite, Power, Beniers and Guenther are not players you would just give away so easily. |

Getting Seattles 1st round next year is the IMPORTANT piece. It gives you greater odds at winning the Shane Wright Lottery! LOVE this rumor

If Seattle took Skinner they could probably get it done for just this year’s first round pick. |

No way Seattle is in on Eichel.
Would make zero sense.
They’ll stay put at 2 and take Beniers. |

At the end of the day it’s a FRANCHISE CENTER. You have to pay the piper if you want one. Very rare one is available. His contract is of no importance as elite franchise centers make that money. Quite honestly 2 1sts and a young goalie isn’t enough but that should be the price drop! Seattle IMO shouldn’t do it as they have no prospect pool yet and NEED to build one to sustain viability in the NHL. Buffalo if offered would probably do it as yeah it’s on the low end but with the neck injury the price is a discounted price. No way Adams can do anything less than that. I’m hoping Eichel actually stays and they just move Reinhart and bring in the 9th and younger forward from Vancouver. Then roll into FA finding a number 1 winger or trade for 1. Adams has his work cut out for him regardless what he does |
