Yeah I mean they definitely should not tell us the fan base what was discussed internally. But the team held press conference and stated and led the fan base to believe and stayed nopa definitely did not sustain concussion(s). That his “migraines” were from family history and has dealt with them in past.

These were flat out lies. Nopa Monday confirmed that

What is to be gained by the team doing this?

How confident is the fan to be when any injury comes up? I mean you as fan ARE invested with time $ emotion and should not be lied too or purposely deceived by the team. I mean you want me to go to games. Buy merch. Support the team.

Honestly it reminds me of lindros punctured lung… was it team doctor incompetent or what. This team has a history of deceit. Not funny but funny how it came out lindros could’ve died had he got on that plane.

I mean wtf are the flyers fans incapable of handling the truth? Are they children? Or thought to be? Dysfunctional I say

Are you saying a GM perhaps lied, that's crazy talk.
Is there any proof that team drs were incompetent is this, or this speculative?

Hard to score when you're buried in 75% dzone starts and you can't rest properly because you're constantly on and off the ice taking every FO that matters.

With that said, I wouldn't pursue him for the Flyers. Hayes will be the Flyers' 3C sooner than later.

Im reading Frost will be at least given a good opportunity to lock down that 3C spot this upcoming season.

He was not even in the vicinity of threatening during the SCF. His line's inability generate any semblance of offense in ES was one of the downfalls of the Habs. What was he doing with those 25% OZ starts? And if he is so good in FOs, just because you are doing a Dzone start doesn't mean you can't generate offense after the ensuing FO win, does it?

Terrific defensive player. Tremendous stick. But should be playing checking line imo, not 1C.

Danualt definitely more of a 3C but is $5mil plus overpaying for that role? Faceoffs and shutdown capabilities are huge. I guess it depends on how your team is constructed in regards to the cap.

The team stated in press and numerous interviews that nopa didn’t receive a concussion.

Either they knew he had and lied
Or truly didn’t know and doctors were incompetent

Nopa on Monday admitted he received concussion from clutterbuck hit. Admitted he was timid in contact beginning of this year when returning do you fear of contact

Behavior is generated by incentives. Behavior will not change until fans stop taking the company line so reverently and at face value.

Until then, they will lie if it is profitable for them to do so.

Its an intriguing thought. It would free Couturier of a lot of burden.

Would you prefer a line up of Couturier-Frost-Danault down the middle or Couturier-Hayes-Frost?

I think the former utilizes talents better.

I am often accused of dwelling too much on stats. My assessment of AF is actually exclusively based on the eye test. There were some instances this past season when I went whoa! and hit rewind. That never happens with Farabee.

I see Farabee ceiling as Simon Gagne. Legit 1st line winger, good 2way, good hockey sense, great positioning. But not a game breaker. Will need someone better than him to form a threatening first line.

I see dominant, game breaking, line carrying potential in AF. But I am not however the best eye-test guy. I was completely wrong about Couturier. I am also possibly biased because of where AF was picked.

If Farabee is a second Gagne Flyers have hit a home run...LAF will be a 30 goal 80 point guy in a year or 2

How many teams admit when a player has a concussion? Especially if the player in question already has issues with headaches? No team offers 100% truth about injuries.

We all knew he had a concussion..Team just lied...If you ask them they will say they lied to protect the player. Unless he stops being a perimeter player his career wont last long

I am very bullish about Farabee. I am excited about the kid. I would love to see Frost and him flourish together.

But the question was AF versus Farabee. And I would do that trade with tremendous glee. AF has the sort of single handed terrorizing potential we frankly don't have.

Even if that turns out to be a false hope, I would take that chance.

He gave up only 6 ES goals in 22 playoff games, holding the line against a veritable murderer's row of opponents. You want him to score 20 goals too? Be reasonable.

I'd put him right up there w/ Price in terms of being most responsible for pushing that team as far as they went.

He's not a 1C. Never will be. But he'll be worth $$ just for the defense to somebody. And with more balanced usage, he can score pretty well at ES too.

I always prefer the truth. I don’t have enough legal knowledge to guess if there would be a reason to not be forthcoming. Or if this is simply the case of doctors saying they were unable to say 100% whether the migraines were related to past concussions. I recall Fletcher waffling a bit about whether the migraines were triggered by the concussions or if they were a separate issue which he did have family history. They did admit he had concussions as a Flyer. I remember posting some of the YouTube footage of the heavy hits he sustained.

For my part, I disagreed that he was somehow lesser in any way because he got concussions from being hit, Or soft in any way because he then suffered from migraines, Or that he would not be able after a time to return to play. And I simply root for him to regain his play and reach his potential. I stand by all of that.

Personally, I agree that concussions can trigger migraines. Not sure if that is what happened and Patrick disagreed with the doctor assessments or if there was conflicting assessments and the Flyers took the other side.

Having experience with them myself…On a side note, I completely understand Patrick not wanting to explain his experience in detail. Who wants to talk about it, I certainly don’t. Most people just don’t understand anyway.

As I remember it, what they said was that he missed the season due to a migraine disorder and not a concussion. Apparently that was what doctors determined (for what it's worth). I guess the point of stating that is to protect themselves from being accused of not treating his concussions properly? I don't think the Flyers did anything wrong exactly. I'm guessing that they followed all NHL protocols regarding concussion.

Ha Ha. Yes. The emphasis in pronouncing his last name is very much on the F. The La is light, so I transliterated what I was hearing in my head.
