Gotta take a player based on where they were drafted right? That’s why NoPa turned out so well and why people are lining up for JVR, right? - black_francis
Where they were drafted has absolutely nothing to do with it |

Takes time to develop youth...watch out this year - hfc355
Right. So youth development only applies to the Rangers?

A point a game player at age 24 on an awful team..he is elite...saying that I think Rangers would be crazy to give up 4 assets like they are asking for and then not be able to sign ZIB..I would keep Zib and the assets Zib is a quality 1C - hfc355
You can rack up points on a bad team when you’re eichel and everyone is told to give you the puck 😂
I’m on a pretty weak men’s league team right now and I put up a lot of points and we still lose. Absolutely does not mean my point totals will remain the same or go up on a more complete team. No one on my team even wants the puck so it makes padding my stats easier.
What I’m saying is, I’m the Jack Eichel of men’s league and I’ll be signing mini sticks later in the parking lot

Potential.
Although I don’t think you can make the claim until the potential is realized over a period of time - Stayin alive
you definitely can't claim he's a potential hall of famer based on what he's done so far. |

I am not going higher than a 3rd.....1rst is WAY too much. - Deasr1
If he were healthy and the game changer/sniper he was in his prime, maybe.
But to trade away a first for a guy coming off three shoulder surgeries? I can’t do it. You want to offload Jake for a year of cap savings (still a huge risk), I understand. But doing that and trading the 13th overall is bad asset management. Let someone else do it and if he plays great, so be it. |

You cant afford to have your bottom pair playing only 12 minutes a night. That is not smart in any way. Be foolish. You need them to be at least at 15 minimum. - hello it's me 2050
ok, sure, the point is your top4 are playing at or over 20 minutes a game, so that is where it matters most. |

Does laf have a higher celling than Farabee? Yes or no? - hello it's me 2050
I don’t know. Maybe. Farabee looks like an absolute stud. LAF looked more like Kakko. |

If the Flyers are giving up a pick with Voracek than most likely Seattle would retain salary. Not sure how I feel about Tarasenko at this point, but hypothetically:
(PHI) Voracek and 2021 1st for (SEA) Tarasenko (30% Retained)
+2.25m
Seattle selects Ghost
+4.5m
Giroux-Couturier-Tarasenko
Lindblom-Hayes-Konecny
JvR-Frost-Farabee
Allison-Laughton-NAK

Re-Sign Sanheim
Re-Sign Hart

Does NAK have to be in the lineup? Can we get my cousin from Yonkers instead? |

Really? Who do you thing they take?
So then a simple question for you. If the Rangers offered him straight up for Farabee would you make that deal? Yes or no. - hello it's me 2050
Hell no. |

He is one of the top centers in the league. Is 25 in his prime. They have the assets to give up without crippling their team. When players like him become availbale you do what you can to acquire them. Well the fact he wants out of Buffalo shows me he is tired of losing and wants to win. Love that attitude. Unlike some players.
Will giving ex selke 8 million for 8 years hamstring the the flyers to some extent?
Would you trade the Flyers organization of players for the Rangers? - hello it's me 2050
I will take Couts over Eichel any day of the week and twice on Sunday! |

That’s barely livable to me. Including the 13th pick to make the trade and only save 30% on salary not worth giving up the 13th pick IMO. There’s gonna be a good asset at 13 especially if a goalie is taken before 13. With a goalie and 5 d prospects projected to go before 13 that leaves 7 forwards left. There’s gonna be a really nice pick at 13. Also there’s still moves that can be made to free up a little more cap room to fit an ufa dman in. - Stayin alive
Agreed, it is foolish to give up so much for Tarasenko, who has played only 34 games over the past two seasons and whose shoulder is barely attached. There are better options for the Flyers. In general, when there is a lot of chatter, nothing ever happens. I mean, how much chatter was there about Ellis coming to the Flyers, beyond my several posts on the topic. |

Otto was an underrated hockey player. What is he up to these days Bill? - hello it's me 2050
The last I heard is that Joel Otto was living in Calgary. He became a lawyer and has done charitable work in the Calgary community.
Joel is from Minny and played high school and college hockey there. Joel once said that the only reason that he was in the NHL was to check Mark Messier. He had some epic battles with Messier. |

Not sure what you mean here? I take ordering a "bobbie" from Capriotis as an insult. However, a lot of people love them. Please explain.

I wouldn't call Farabee an absolute stud, but he had step forward last season, where most of his teammates went the opposite direction. Need more time to evaluate Kakko and LAF, but so far they are not blowing me away. |

He's a guy who just feasts on the PP. At ES, he's not very competitive, doesn't play much D... is just content skating up and down the ice looking to score himself.
He gets a lot of icetime and really doesn't do as much with it as most of his peers. Put him on a better team where he actually has competition for icetime and doesn't get the luxury of 70% offensive zone starts and his numbers probably drop. - Tomahawk
Feast on pp? Yeah bumbalo had #1 pp with eichel in lineup. As far as es you really have to look at team. And soccer coach who takes a 40 goal scorer off his wing etc. and who gets the puck to the forwards at es? Dahlin young just got there. Many factors. On a good team and healthy eichel is a top 5 point player IMO.
I’ll also note we will find out this year when he’s traded. Assuming neck injury not a factor and plays whole season |

He will be 100 point player assuming that other major thing isn't a thing. This is also regardless of the team he plays for.
