Why would they draft Tarasenko then trade him for Jake? They could draft both of them for nothing.. if they draft Tarasenko he's nor coming here - mageejames40
Same reason as why Gostisbehere passed through waivers unclaimed. There's a salary cap to manage. Two years of term on Tarasenko at $7.5 million and three years of term on Voracek at $8.25 million is a whole lot of cap commitment.
That said, I still think there's a good chance that the Kraken take Dunn from St. Louis and someone other than Voracek (Ghost or JVR) from the Flyers.

Ellis said in his presser that it was a broken knuckle last season not a shoulder injury.
I really dislike all those reports now and the secrecy of “upper or lower” right about now. However, everyone should feel a little more confident now about his recent health.

So right now you would take Eichel over Couturier for the next 6-8 years regardless of salary? - mickel25
Nope. |

Which prospects are blue chip for the Rangers? - mickel25
Go take a look at their roster and prospects.
Is LAF a blue chip prospect? Does anyone on the flyers have his potential celling?

I think the fact that he looked very close to his usual standards down the stretch and the playoffs -- including offensively with 9 points in final 14 RS games and 5 points in 6 games in the Carolina series -- suggested there was nothing career threatening going on with him. Still, it was a relief that it turns out he didn't have any sort of shoulder issue last season much less surgery.

Eichel has 5 years left at 10 per I think he’s 25 maybe 26.
Coots signing at age 30 🤮8+/???
Eichel more elite offensively
I’d take Eichel everyday of the week and twice on Sunday

If the Flyers are giving up a pick with Voracek than most likely Seattle would retain salary. Not sure how I feel about Tarasenko at this point, but hypothetically:
(PHI) Voracek and 2021 1st for (SEA) Tarasenko (30% Retained)
+2.25m
Seattle selects Ghost
+4.5m
Giroux-Couturier-Tarasenko
Lindblom-Hayes-Konecny
JvR-Frost-Farabee
Allison-Laughton-NAK
Twarynski
Provorov-Ellis
Sanheim- - Glak18[UFA]
York-Braun
Hagg
Hart
[UFA]
16,135,477 CAP SPACE
Re-Sign Sanheim
Re-Sign Hart
Sign UFA Defenseman
Sign Goaltender
I am not going higher than a 3rd.....1rst is WAY too much.

So anyone wearing blue is better than anyone wearing orange? Did Farabee outperform LAF and Kakko last year? They were both selected higher in the draft were they not?
How did that happen? Farabee wore orange and black for every game?
|
|

Nope. - bmeltzer
I hope this is because of injury concerns to Eichel neck?? |

He is one of the top centers in the league. Is 25 in his prime. They have the assets to give up without crippling their team. When players like him become availbale you do what you can to acquire them. Well the fact he wants out of Buffalo shows me he is tired of losing and wants to win. Love that attitude. Unlike some players.
Will giving ex selke 8 million for 8 years hamstring the the flyers to some extent?
Would you trade the Flyers organization of players for the Rangers? - hello it's me 2050

Yes that is exactly what I said. Go back and reread what I posted.
Does laf have a higher celling than Farabee? Yes or no?

Bill as far as Williams goes. What were his duties as AC in NY and Vancouver? Do you see him assuming any duties currently held by Yeo or Therrien ? |

I would trade organizations is a second...The Rangers organization is better in every facet...their NHL offense is better..defense is better..and goaltending is better. Add to that their farm is deeper. As hard as it is to say that. And they have CAP space to make more moves |

Who determines the ceiling? When does the actual stats become more important than the "ceiling"?
If you ask the 32 GM's in the NHL who would they take?

Bench assist and/or video coach, depending on the year. Elsewhere, he's been a head coach and a strength and conditioning program overseer. He will take over Lappy's role. No change in duties for Yeo and Therrien. |

But somehow the Flyers won the H2H two years in a row. The Rangers are flashier no doubt. But they are not setup to win any sooner than the Flyers.

Really? Who do you thing they take?
So then a simple question for you. If the Rangers offered him straight up for Farabee would you make that deal? Yes or no.

Why is Couturier a lesser option than Eichel? Also, why do you value the Rangers prospects higher than the Flyers? - mickel25
Couts is a nice player..Eichel is a potential Hall of Famer. Players arent even close. Rangers young players and prospects are far far superior then Flyers. They had an All Rookie D man playing #1 minutes..a 2nd yr guy win the Norris..and loaded with youth up front and in net. Plus they also have 3 top tier D prospects..not even close |
