We all know. It's either that or he'll go the route that your grammar is incorrect or that a word you used was the wrong word. That a word you used doesn't mean what you think it means. |

Patrick had 2 issues. Organization chose to stress migraine. If it was only migraines I don't believe he would have missed so much time. The Flyers had reasons for couching it they way they did. Me in the peanut gallery, last year, said the explanation by the Flyers didn't pass the straight face test or that I was suspicious. Let me tell you, you would have thought I slapped a baby. I was basically told I didn't know what I was talking about. How dare you question the team. I hold no grudge with the organization over the Patrick affair. I do hold a grudge with the organization, however. for putting a mediocre product on the ice year after year. |

anywhere? you just named one spot he wouldn't be. there are several other teams he wouldn't be either. again, not poopting on eichel. i think he's really good. just not as good as some people are making him out to be. - Ftown19125
Coots isn’t remotely as good as we make him out to be. Sean Couturier is on a two way center level with Patrice Bergeron except Bergeron is a way more dynamic scorer. Bergeron is leading the charge in pressure moments and getting the job done. |

I don't think there was anything remotely resembling a contradiction. Unless it was in response to your post which referred to your love of cross-dressing. |

Yes, but not what you mean. - PT21
I have no idea what the Nashville media are like or whether they ever asked for clarification, nor if the Predators have policy against revealing injury info.
Ellis was clear in multiple interviews today—knuckle/finger and not shoulder. He also states that he is still a little shocked from the trade and hasn’t fully adjusted. He says he is from a small town, always been with the Predators and thus never been traded before. He is meeting team personnel and media for the first time in a city from another conference that he says he knows little about and you say…
Fair enough. You may be right.
I would find not clarifying the zillions of reports that he had a shoulder injury a little odd on the part of the Preds. I am sure there was a hand injury. I am not sure there wasn't another injury. Instead of shoulder, it could be clavicle (technically not shoulder).
I did not watch the presser. I watched some of it now. To me, he looked ill at ease, not thrilled to be here, and evasive about his medical replies.
Having said that, I admit I dont have anything more than a hunch. - PT21
To me things are different and he is very invested in making it a different-good. Your hunch is wrong and your take is mean and stupid. |

Couturier 1.01 goals per 60 mins with game within 1 goal (ahead by 1, trailing by 1 or tied) over the past 3 seasons.
Patrice Bergeron: 1.02
Wow, Bergy's really far ahead there.
Bergy's actually less clutch than both of his linemates. Pastrnak and Marchand are quite a ways ahead of him. |

Here's the thing. It's not exactly lying, but it's not exactly the truth either. It's all so silly and deep down we all know what's going on. Patrick had several concussions followed by an entire season missed because of migraines. You don't have to be a doctor to put things together. I'm sure any doctor worth a damn would tell Patrick he should not step on the ice again. The reality is that everyone is complicit in here. Patrick (the players) wants to play in the NHL. He's so motivated (by money? fame? glory?) to be in the NHL that he's willing to risk (frank)ing up his brain for it. The NHL (teams, owners, GM, etc.) are willing to let a kids scramble his brains as long as they get their money, glory, fame, whatever. So pro teams (and players) find the doctors, who are willing to overlook the real danger to their patients if it means they can keep their high prestige clientele and the money, glory, fame. Really, we are all complicit in this and if you (not you specifically MJL) have an issue with it, put your money where your mouth is and stop supporting it. - Dkos
You could be right, its an interesting theory, but if that were true, I doubt Patrick would use the C word himself thereafter.
On a more general aside, I find the faith of fans here to be astonishing. There is a general distrust of virtually everything else here. Many people are suspicious that politicians, the press, the scientists, the Church, Hollywood, government (and virtually every institution there is) are lying. That almost seems the default position.
The default position regarding the club though appears to be that it is to be believed unless proven otherwise. Its quite odd, because the club in question is a profit making enterprise at heart.

Thanks for straightening that out, and for your kind comments, but I was just referring to the fact that there is nothing contradictory at all about believing Patrick and being suspicious of Ellis.

and and and he plays with 2 of the best players in the NHL at that wing position. You could just as easily make a case Coots does the same with less.

Stress? They flat out said their doctors did not think it was a concussion.
Exactly. Look at the reaction today. Sports fandom today is partly a refuge for blind faith. |

It's just sad that Flyers fans still don't appreciate everything Sean Couturier does, and how well he does it, even after all these years.

Could the player prefer to say it was a concussion? Maybe by doing that it sends out the message that it is something he can recover from compared to a migraine issues that could plague his career?
Just playing devils advocate.
I still feel like everyone is just trying to find a story that isn't there. - J35Bacher
Just saying he didn’t directly say it was do a concussion. He did call it migraines. Even in that interview. Just seems like making the team at like they were trying to hide a concussion because they were worried they were liable is a stretch.
Like you said. No story here. |

Hmmm fragile?
It was a sneaky allusion to the fact that since you never made such a post about x-dressing, there would have been no response to it either, and thus my contradiction wouldn't really exist (as it doesn't).

Well, Patrick has taken a bunch of hits to the head and didnt seem all that bright to begin with. Maybe he just forgot to censor himself? As for why people believe what they do these days...I am at a total loss. |

Bergeron has 120 points in 160 games. 0.75 ppg.
Couturier has 22 points in 39 games 0.56 ppg. |

Ha Ha
I didn't get that vibe from him at all.
But seriously, you will find some people here, some of the most fervent conspiracy-theorists, be the most uncritically devotional in their faith. It is not at all restricted to Flyers. Fascinating.
(By the way, in case of any confusion, by no stretch of the imagination was my talk about NoPa anything Flyers specific. Same thing would happen in any franchise). |

Tomorrow will be a day of big moves. And then I think it will be a none stop frenzy of moves across the league.
I hope Chuck stays on the attack. Keeps trying to make moves that can make this club improved. Ellis was the biggest move right before the freeze. I haven’t seen any major pundit that says the Flyers didn’t make a great trade.
Funny how some people hate everything and some people (me) seem to love everything.
I love my Flyer googles. It’s gotta be more fun then the people that hate everything. |
