Get Winnipeg to let Seattle sign Maurice as he has overstayed his use with the Jets. |

You guys are nuts Maurice is a really good coach. That blue line is terrible and they are a solid team. Any tram missing their number one center and what say top 5 to 8 ish center in the world would suffer. I'd kill to have Maurice |

I like Maurice as a coach. But as for Seattle, would Torts be so bad? I like what he brings to the table. I don't think Tochett would be that great, but maybe the Nelson guy? I don't know much about him though. |

Great article. Sure sounds like Tocchet makes a lot of sense. Nelson, too, though I wonder if Francis would favor familiarity with Tocchet or maybe Vellucci. Also curious if he's waiting on this decision as long as he can in case the coaching landscape changes after the playoffs!
It would be a heck of a story if he went real off the wall and gave Rikard Gronborg (ZSC Lions) a shot. Sign him for a couple seasons, see what he does with the rag tag of players and prospects. It would be a tough gig for a 1st time NHL coach, but at least he'd be coming into a situation where expectations are fairly low. (??) |

If they wanted to be bold and he's cleaned up whatever issues he had, Jim Montgomery has been successful everywhere he's been and certainly knows how to handle young players and veterans alike. Probably would be deemed not a great look for a new team though. |

That would be interesting . . . Hear what you're saying, but yeah, that would be a PR distraction the Kraken probably would prefer avoid on year one.

This is only if he doesn't resign with the Hurricanes. Brindamour is a great coach. |

Agreed on Bob Hartley.
Rick Tocchet would have made better sense in Vegas where he'd be free to "Pete Rose" his way around.
Paul MacLean would be my first choice.
Second would be Luke Richardson. |

i think Torts would be a good hire
this team needs structure and an identity, he knows how to create both well from the ground up |

This team should get a fresh face, no re-treads

You're going to be getting a lot of skilled players and not just a bunch of retreads and rookies like expansion teams years ago got...so Torts wouldn't be a bad choice. He has shown that he can take players with less talent and mold them into a cohesive team and beat teams above their weight class...The Rangers made a great choice with Gallant but you could do worse than Torts here.. |

I just don't think a coach like Torts in year one is the way to go. Every member of that team will be adjusting to new surroundings, new city, and the gamut of feelings that may come on how and why they got there. Not sure he's the guy to carry the collective of 20 - 30 players, and all the vast adjustments they will be experiencing, with grace and perhaps a modicum of patience.

Yup. Most of those so-called Canucks haters have been dedicated and loyal Canucks fans, for 51 seasons, they have a right to voice their opinions, unlike you who posts nothing but fiction. |

was francis waiting for Rod and then lost out on gallant? I dont get why the wait. No on torts and babcock. No on Bylsma. he played guys like craig adams and tanner glass over guentzel and rust. He moved iginla away from the side he scored 500 goals on and wondered why it didnt work.
Tocchet will play young guys and he seems to treat everyone the same; no divas.
What about Jim Montgomery? he signed a 2 year deal last fall as an assistant with the blues.
