Question from a NYR fan.
Would STL consider moving Orielly or Schenn? If so, what do you think would be a reasonable trade offer for:
Orielly....
Or
Schenn |

ROR is a simple no. The problem with Schenn has a NTC, so would be hard to move. I honestly dont think the Blues want to move him, but I would entertain the option. I think his contract was a bit much for me. I do think he is better utilized on the wing, but they have no one to play 2nd line C as of now. Thomas hasnt been able to take that spot yet. Bottom-line though, I don't think any one of them is available.

agreed
Which in the end means there really is no clear cut answer for any of the 3. Sucks for the Blues.
I would resign Hoffman, Let Schwartz walk unless super friendly deal, and only trade Tarasenko if it was somehow part of some bigger end game moves like brining in Eichel. |

Schwartz has been great for the Blues, Berube Isn't a fan of Hoffman, And Tarasenko cant stay healthy. |

First off John, it is great to have someone like yourself writing about the Blues.
As for Hoffman, yes, I would resign him, BUT Armstrong needs to put his foot down to the coaching staff, he needs to be in the top six and play on the #1 power play. Schwartz time is up. He is going to be looking for a bigger deal than what he had,it has Steen 2.0 all over it. Time to move on. |

John Gove: Should the Blues re-sign Hoffman? - John.Gove
No. My dev's should sign him. We will give him the $$$ he wants, and ship him off at the trade deadline to the highest bidder. With Palmeiri gone, the Devs need someone who can shoot. Hoffman is far from perfect, but he can snipe. |

No Blues' player has a full NTC. It's usually for a few years and or limited teams.
Doing research of the expansion draft and considering the flat cap and Seattle's ability to weaponize it placing large forward salaries minus ROR and not resigning RFAs until after the expansion draft seems to be the best direction to go.
Case in point the Kings not long after winning two Cups exposed big name players and none were choosen.
Seattle's going to want to weaponsize cap space. They have the same roster constraints. So picking 30 players the roster is still only what 21 or 23 spaces then waivers? The trick is to find cheap under utilized players that have potential--Walman, Mikko or even Dunn all fit the perfect mold. They have the double advantage of being easy to move for draft assets.
Keep Schwartz as long as cap hit is reasonable, dont overly focus on production for his value. I would seriously look at moving Tarasenko. I definitely would not protect him. I might go 8 players just to protect Walman and expose Schenn and Tarasenko bc it is highly unlikely either is picked. |

He is not a grunt. Blues are working class. Tarasenko bought in and we won The Cup! We need a working class team. All on the same board as far as game play. If he resigns at a discount then yeah. Where does Schwartz stand? Gunnar? Hell our defense sucked so we need Gunnar at 2 million |

Don’t you like the ONLY forward on the team that will drop the gloves? Sure he is inconsistent but he is a hell of a player. |

Protect yet another UNDERSIZED defensemen. Why? With the forwards being so small now we need BIG bodies. Mikkola. As an example |

This whole we need super tall dmen bc it worked one time crap is nonsense. It was mostly bc there was little talent on the defense.
JayBo goes down on the bench and becomes a saint. His game was degrading and he stepped it up in the play offs to become....average. I thought he had a second job delivering pizzas.
It's not the size that matters period. Bc JayBo and Petro both 6'3" or taller couldnt clear the net and used to give a ton of goals down low. Check the fancy stats. What you need are players who can retrieve the puck and move the puck out efficiently. Often times skating it. Walman has those qualities and he throws big hits, and has a hell of a shot.
Honestly, a good defense is playing the lines and not bailing on them. A lot of that has to do with forwards. To me the Blues need to add some forwards with speed and not all of them be skilled, maybe one who hits hard but is good on the forecheck and gribding. You get that guy on two more lines(one hopefully with skill) and you'll make the slower players more effective.
But dmen need to be tall is dumb. They need to play well period, especially on the lines. Jamie Oliesiak is not a good player. |

First off! F YOU. I’m a pizza driver ya bumhole. Ha ha.
Yes pick moving defensemen is what we need but big bodies to block shots and help protect the net. Big forwards would help as grunt workers along the boards. Feed it to the skilled players.
I like Walman. He seems decent enough in his limited time. Mikkola stepped up. I like his tenacity. He has some anger behind him which Faulk lacks. Faulk is fine. Pretty good. Stepped up when Parayko was injured
Dunn as an example is smaller and a forward first thinking dman. I don’t like that. Need to play better defensively and keep our goalies protected and then move onto the offense.
Jbouw did great after his years of sucking for us with the hip injury. Do you disagree with that statement?
