if his hand is forced because of injuries, sure, then maybe, until he can pick up a Sbiza off waivers
- Ross77

Going back a ways, but remember watching the TML's, wit four rookies as their top pairings D, playing the Jets at the Wpg Arena, who had four vets in their top pairings. Guess who won the game? Jets big time! It was like men against boys!

What you say may be true, but IMO you won't win with a bunch of kids on the blue-line. A couple yes, but not too many at once. And if the team doesn't win, guess who pays the price? The coach!

D-men take longer to develop, at least that's what they say. Now if you've got a Cale Makar, a Vctor Hedman or a Paul Coffey things can be different. Actually hope we do have something like that.

How good do you think Heinola can be?

Hilarious the love DeMelo gets on here, he's terrible, I'd rather have 40 year old Hainsey out there now then DeMelo and I couldn't stand Hainsey when he was a Jet!.. Lol
- JetFuel

Haha. Ya he was horrible the first 30 games. He has played better, and with Stanley, the two are becoming a good 3rd pairing.

Are you really advocating keeping DD over JoMo in the Expansion Draft???
- grahamzky

yes, why wouldn't you? you want the worse defenseman making double the money? that makes zero sense.

please, explain why not.

Demelo is superior to Morrisey in,
shot differential
limiting high danger chances
limiting time in our zone
plus minus if you like that one
corsi if you like that

Morrisey is better in one thing points ( 5 vrs 5 points is 11-5 in favor of Morrisey ) if thats your only reason, thats not much of one.

there is no argument to be made that shows Morrisey helps us win more than Demelo.
Morrisey is our highest paid blueliner and is performing the worst now that Beau is no longer playing.

we have Stanley, Heinola and Samberg all ready for to play left side.

so i'll ask again, why would anyone choose to keep Morrisey over Demelo?

Heinola is already a top 4 D and better than all our D not named Pionk ands Demelo IMO, i think he will be a very solid Teppo Nummenin type D and I loved Teppo

I'd love a solid Right shot D pick up over the summer but without, this would be my D to start the year, if we lost Morrisey to Seattle.

Heinola - Demelo
Samberg - Pionk
Stanley - Poolman

but man would this look even better

Heinola - Hamilton
Samberg-Pionk
Stanley - Demelo
Poolman

Morrissey wouldn’t be taken on waivers, let alone by the nerd math Kraken management.

Tbh at that point I’d rather try Stanley with Hamilton, and Heinola with DeMelo. Just roll the pairings.

Heinola is hyper-aggressive, so having him as the lead man is likely better.

Did you just reference a game from like 1994 as a reason not to lean on rookies now in 2021? Are you Paul Maurice?

You mean like Perreault passed through waiver to?
Hahahah I know we are on the same side on this but I couldn’t resist.

He's been bad the last four or five games, was okay for a few games before that, all in all he's a replacement level 3rd pair dman at best, idk what anyone sees in DeMelo, he's small, slow, weak, his passing isn't good and there's no offense to his game.

You literally cannot find a stat that shows him any worse than a close 2nd on the Jets blueline. Most he leads by miles, some Pionk has him beat.

Regardless of your observations, or opinions, he is a clear cut, certifiable 2/3 defenceman at the NHL level.

He wouldn’t now. People thought he was cooked. And then he suddenly went back to 12-18 1st line Perreault

Not sure what you see in DD - there's were you and Paul Maurice agree. But I would really suggest you take the blinders off whenever the game is on - not to just look at the fancy stats the next morning.

To his credit, he has played better lately, hoping he keeps it up and gets selected by the Krakens - he would give them a border-line 3rd pairing d-man with zero upside. Just what they are looking for I would imagine. And the 3 mill cap hit would get them to the cap floor, they should consider that.

If you want a player who probably leads the Jets in bone-head plays and "go-arounds" by the opposing team's fourth line, I can see why you would love this "player."

I'm sorry but some very bad words come out of my mouth in almost every game I see this guy play. For that, I apologize.

But I give you credit, you stand by your man - come hell or high water. That's a good trait. Ya gotta like it. But, I'll take Josh, you can have Dylan. Fair?

If he's comparable to Teppo, then we got ourselves a player. They were mentioning Heinola = Lars-Erik Sjoberg the other day. I could handle that!

I'd be surprised if we don't see him for a game or two at least before the playoffs. Maybe he stays?

This is a great d-corps!

But I do like Morrissey and think he’s being overused. His best days were when he was not playing as much as he is now. Josh Morrissey is essentially the Mark Scheifele of the blue line, whereas both are overplayed and when that happens, deficiencies in their games begin to appear.

Looks like you have lots of internal work to do. There is no need to apologize to anyone on this board as I am sure that the majority of us are not watching the games with you and are not hearing you curse. The main question you need to ask yourself about cursing is: what emotions are you working through when you are this upset about a hockey game? What does this behaviour really tell you about who you are? I think, I along with all the other hockeybuzz posters are quite curious to hear your answers.

My question is: "Are you a Minister?" If so, I thank you for the sermon! Sorry I got you worked up in a frenzy. Sorry, it bothered you.

Actually I'm not worried about the bad words - if you really think I really do worry, you certainly don't know me. Well, actually, you don't.

I am not worked up at all. You said you felt bad about using foul language. I was just trying to be helpful.

I do agree that it is a tragedy that we all do not know each other better. I have only ever met two other posters on this board in real life, Ross77 and Jetter.

Both guys seemed to be really nice and I enjoyed my time with them!

Actually I don't know any other posters, although I kind of suspect I might know one other poster. But 99% Jet fans, that's the main thing.

Sounds like Heinola tonight, maybe Benn the next game. Let's hope that Ville plays like Teppo or Lars-Erik - and then he may never come out of the line-up again except for injury.

I just hope Maurice takes the reigns off him and let's him go. In past games (few) I thought he was being held back. But what do i know? Nothing!

Ross is a solid dude. Good, even. As one with positive feelings might say.
