With Ross Johnston on IR?!? Are you nuts. - Wildschwein
You can always replace nelson for him on the first line when he’s healthy |

MDC and Johnston are practicing with the Islanders. Hall really screwed over the Sabres the Leafs Oilers and Islanders had much better offers but he wanted Boston. He had a NTC. why the heck would you give Hall a NTC. I think he wanted the money then get traded at the deadline. Imagine they miss the playoffs and hall does nothing. He becomes an ufa and nobody wants him |

That would be ok with me.. or if they lost in first round to Islanders and he did nothing.. that would be good too.

Boston has 6 games with sabres. Have to remember buffalo has alot of players fighting for jobs next season. Not going to be easy as you think. Be funny if Buffalo wins 3 games or more and flyers or Rangers pass them.

My apologies Carnage, I was being facetious.
There once was a lovely poster that graced this board, who insisted that Barzal be moved to wing and that Ross Johnston was the second coming of Tom Wilson. |

Friedman said on his 31 Thoughts podcast that he thinks the Islanders were really close to pulling the trigger on Hall Wednesday and that he thinks Hall would've accepted a trade there. Similar cost to what they gave up for Palmieri/Zajac, which I assume means maybe Lazar was part of that package too. Said they pretty much were down to choosing between Hall or Palmieri. |

I’m happy with who we ended up with. I think once both of them are dialed in with the team, the system, and Trotz has his lines set we’re going to be in a good spot. They both fit the islanders mold much better then Hall could imo. |

Yeah I'm in agreement there. Hall may have had a higher offensive ceiling but I think he carried a lot more risk of not really acclimating to a defense-first system. Also didn't hurt that Lou struck early and they got some extra games in with the team. Not much, but it probably gives them a little more time to get adjusted before it really matters in the playoffs. |

They needed a break I think it’s awesome. Hopefully that’s what they needed we’ll find out Thursday |

I'm told majority of #Isles players have gotten at least one vaccine dose already. Wouldn't have expected them to publicize it -- not something Lamoriello-run teams do during the season. |

kind of sounded like with Wahlstom and a few other guys they might have had a reaction to vaccine. Trotz answers to questions on them just seemed odd... |

Yea Wahlstrom tweeted a picture of the area where he got the injection. Something doesn't look right.

From Freidman's 31
Edmonton GM Ken Holland confirmed the Oilers did not make a push. I don’t think Toronto made a huge one, either. Aside from Boston, the strongest pursuers seemed to be the Islanders and Vegas, with St. Louis displaying a degree of interest. The Islanders initially chose the Kyle Palmieri/Travis Zajac duo over Hall, but tried again over the weekend.
That would have been nuts if they got him too |

Not sure if it’s true or not, but it sounds like Hall would only waive for Boston. Which would explain why he demanded an NMC on a single year contract. |

I posted earlier -- Friedman said on the podcast that he was pretty sure Hall would've waived to come here as well. |
