I'm not even sure what they could add and who'd come out of the lineup? I have a hard time seeing Lou telling Zajac to grab a seat in the press box. Bailey isn't getting benched either, regardless of what a lot of people think of him.

One thing I will say: Clutterbuck hasn't gotten enough attention for being largely invisible this season. Not suggesting he's going to lose his spot in the lineup, but his style of play seems to have caught up to him at 33.

Iafallo could be a target and wally to the press box perhaps

I mean there's no doubt that he'd be the likely guy to come out of the lineup...but I really don't think they can afford to take his shot out of the mix.

Iafallo is a solid player but I wonder how much of an actual upgrade over Wahlstrom he'd be and if the talent gap would really justify the cost of acquiring him.

I’m not one who normally gets overly touchy about pulling rookies out of the line up. I get the positives to having vets in the lineup especially during the playoffs. With that said Wahlstrom has done nothing short of prove that he shouldn’t ever be pulled out of the lineup. He is positively impactful just about every time he’s on the ice and certainly every game he plays. He was absolutely awesome last night in fact he was the only player that played good the entire game while everyone else sucked for most of it

I told all of you it was a ligament as soon as he went down. If you need any medical Marijuana advice please let me know

Partial tear full blown tear are 2 different issues and recovery times Dr.
Just don’t remember the Islanders stating the exact extent of the injury Knowing Lou and how close to the vest he is with any information.

I was laughing when he literally had more of an impact in the first 30 seconds of the game last night than Leo did all night the prior game

No disagreement about going vet-heavy for the playoffs either, but if he's holding his own then he should be in the lineup. It'd be great for him to have some playoff experience under his belt this early in his career.

Don't recall if they announced the severity of the injury but they did say it was ACL-only and it was expected that his knee would recover to 100%

I thought Wahlstrom had his worst game in recent memory last night, and even with that being the case, that line was probably the Isles' best. His issue last night was a matter of timing...just a half-step ahead or behind where he needed to be, but he was always in the right areas.

I agree with you...it's not a matter of "young guy vs. vet"...it's just that he's a good weapon to have out there at any age, and is also not a defensive liability...bad penalty last night notwithstanding.

#NJDevils are trading Dmitry Kulikov to the Oilers for a conditional 2022 draft pick. @KevinWeekes had the trade first.

And Dallas claimed Vatanen off waivers -- who the hell is going to play defense for the Devils??

For a team that is a bit offensively challenged and the fact that the kid plays a pretty responsible two way game I’m not sure how it’s even a debate whether he’ll be on our playoff roster. If he’s not we’re not icing our best lineup.

Agreed. Have to ice your best possible lineup to win he gives us that best option him not being a vet doesn’t change that.

Yeah and I don't really want to remove him from a largely-inept PP.

I'd love to see him and Palmieri swap playing that bumper spot in the slot during the course of a PP. If they keep switching, one of them is bound to draw the attention of the PK and leave the other open...and they can both wire it.

Last night's roster is the one going forward assuming no more moves are made. Zajac looked better and is solid defensively and palmeri was moving out there too.
