That's one of the things which frustrated me about Merrill. His reluctance to shoot. He loves passing. I mean he's a very good passer but the other team knew it. His shot is average. It won't keep goalies awake at night. He won't make Weber jealous. 🤣

Problem is, this team needs an offensive star but has committed way too much money to the back end, if Price and Weber don’t move, it’s hard to inverse that trend...

He has been good to excellent at times for the Canadiens but was never a guy who could "carry" a team. ie, Roy and even he had some goal support.

I'll give it to MB, Merril is exaclty the type of player Habs needed. I mentionned it again last night. yes a better player would have been nice (top4 instead of 3rd pairing), but he is still the type of D they needed.
