It begins...the foundation is in place, now we fill the stopgaps and find that gawddarn #1 centre and we’re ready to roll. |

Seems like Nashville is winning without Duchenne, maybe you could trade for him.

Was Pinto the guy that went 18-0 in the faceoff circle in one game? I hope that translates to NHL. Sens usually suck at faceoffs. |

Garrioch and/or Simpson said both will report directly to Ottawa. |

Sweet. No matter how well they play there's not way they'll burn a year of hte ELC, so they'll eventually spend some time in Bellevillle too. |

This is low key the best Sens news we've got all year!! JBD was great and Pinto was icing on the cake, I thought he was going back. |

It’s the opposite, regardless of where they play they’ll burn a year. |

No. not sure why, don't really understand the difference in the rules when signing late like this.
all i know is that regardless of where they play (even if they don't play a single game in the NHL) they have both burnt the 1st year of their ELC. |

I believe that after you turn 19, you burn a year whether you play in the NHL or AHL.
I would be more concerned with burning a year towards unrestricted free agency. Since they are playing less than half a season, that won't be the case. So 7 years within team control for both players. |

https://businessofhockey....ies-entry-level-contract/
An entry level contract is limited by term (dependent on the prospect’s age at the date they sign the contract) and compensation but includes a provision for prospects aged 18 and 19 (as long as they don’t turn 20 before December 31 in the year they sign their first contract) that allows teams to slide the contract one year into the future if the player does not skate in a minimum of 10 NHL games (NHL CBA Article 9.1D). |

now post the update to the CBA as reflected in the MOU between the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players Association reflecting the changes to the section of the CBA as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the inability to value early stages of a career when minor games are not being played and to toll contracts. |

Our future foundation of this team is looking good. Hopefully development continues and players like Formanton and Brown etc are able to get healthy and come into the #1 roles they are projected as.
It's looking positive |

Tidy business by Dorion here. Was worried a bit about the rash of USHL signings, seeing a Very/Fox scenario unfold. Ottawa isn't exactly a desirable location to play, but our thin roster actually presents a lot of upside to the prospect of these guys breaking in earlier. Unless Smith gets a chance to Brannstrom them, that is. |
