For me personally, I’d go with whichever player gives you the better return. I like Dumo, and think he’s the better player right now, but as you’ve pointed out he is older and I believe Pettersson isn’t that much worse.

In an ideal world we dump MM off on anyone who would take him and roll with Dumo, Petts, and POJ, but that isn’t going to happen. I really think you have to weigh your options, and since POJ has been en fuego I feel like there’s no way you can take him out of the lineup. The other option is playing someone on their offhand but I’m not sure if any of the four would excel at this.

All that being said, with the injury bug biting the Pens in the ass and refusing to let go, and the situation with Jimmy stepping down, I don’t see anyone being traded anytime soon unless it’s for some defensive help.

And just to be clear, I realize I didn't spell it out, but MM should of course be the one to go if we can trade him for anything and not take any salary back.

I'm not that advanced in how I view the game but I seem to hear and read that Dumo lost a step after his latest big injury. Hence my idea that he isn't getting younger. But agree that DumoTang is a known commodity... on the other hand will Letang really be extended... might depend on what salary he asks for. Right now he needs to take a pay cut to be a lifer.

Blessing for us. Hopefully we can get some blue liners back by Saturday.

Absolutely ,and maybe we can get some good practices in and work on this atrocious PP. I would like to see a sharper team vs the Islanders Saturday.

That’s probably the general consensus amongst most Pens fans so I probably didn’t even need to bring up MM haha

Honestly I don’t follow along with the analytics community, and mainly go based on my own visual observations and research (if you count hockey sites and articles as research anyway) so I might not have the best insight into who is statistically playing better. I think I’m just so used to watching Dumo and Letang feed off each other and have based my opinion more on their continued chemistry as opposed to Dumo vs Petts.

I generally think Letang’s contract is a bargain when you compare him to some of the other defenseman at his skill level, but with how cap strapped the Pens are, and most likely will be, I agree that for him to stay a Pen it’d be a lot more likely if he took a bit of a hometown discount. I’m biased though so this might just be more wishful thinking than anything on my part.

Apparently the Rags are having an unscheduled presser at 5:45.

Not sure about other locker rooms, but definitely not playing with the Rangers ever again.

Yeah they were pretty blunt about that in the press conference. I guess he was still pissy from being scratched in the opener as well and was warned.

Looks like the Pens are going to have a few days off after tonight. Both NJD games postponed as the Devils have 10 players in CV-19 protocol. Extra time for the D to get healthy and get the PP going.

Would he really want to leave and come to the mess that is Pittsburgh? The championship window is closing fast. Not much draft capital to work with from some of the moves Rutherford made on top of questionable signings.

As the window closes for the capitals, bruins, and pens, you'd have to think the teams to start to dominate the east in the next couple years are Philly, New Jersey, and the Rangers. Not knocking any teams here, the Devils recently went thru this themselves. Just part of the natural cycle of sports.

I feel like Fitz has a better chance to make his mark as a GM building a young core with tons of cap space compared to a team that has next to no cap space, assets, and a championship window that's nearly closed.

Also, has a team ever tried to poach a GM from another team that's the active GM?

Don't know how they make up some of these games with the schedule so packed, but our D is so broken maybe this buys us some time.

I think Rino stated this earlier before the season started, but possibly a reason for the shorter schedule was to leave time for make-up games at the end of the season.

Hahaha

Hes not blacklisted for how he thinks, it's for how he acts. By a lot of accounts he's an actual piece of sh!t.
