It was def reported he was close with Montreal. Lot of speculation for their top pick too - Fattony1187
Speculation is the key. Gerbe acts like they're facts.
Ror for the 3rd pick (tkachuk) on a rookie deal is a fairytale |

Would have been a Helluva draft haul that year with Dahlin, to have gotten Tkachuk too |

"The Grudge" idea is an interesting take I had never heard or considered before. - Der Kaiser
"The gudge" is a very interesting take
- could also be " the new dummy" of the Sabres
These guys keep hiring 1st time gms. Let's "teach him" the ropes. |

Isn’t that the exact opposite of the type of partner we want for Dahlin?
I’d think we want a stay at home, defensive type
That way Dahlin is more free to rush the puck up the ice - jdfitz77
I know people don't like him, but Radko Gudas could fill that role. I would try to get him and Dillon. I don't know that the Caps would be able to resign either. |

How many years are we going to hold terry to those words? He may have meant those exact words in 2011

Profits change

I've posted 4 different links in which it states that they wouldn't give up the 3rd.
I know you're delusional with most your views and won't admit when you're wrong, but once in a while you should pause for a minute to research actual facts.
Just because you keep saying something doesn't make it any more true. - adambuffalo
You can post all the links you want I know the deal was done I'm not going to get into fights
The same people question me about kane ,kyle, ROR and they all came out
So when botts gets fired and info gets released I will accept an apology |

No people would have been pissed lots of people called him a bust before he was drafted
All they did was look at his stats and call him a bust

What you said above is accurate, as many of the analytic scouts and draft experts were making jokes and poking fun at the Sabres ahead of the lottery, saying they fully expected the Sabres to get the 2nd or 3rd overall pick and end up drafting Brady Tkachuk, who was overrated and not very good.
There were several posters who were also already calling a potential pick of Tkachuk in the 2, 3, or 4 spot a terrible idea.
Egg on the face for all those buffoons.
Overall, if what you are sharing is accurate and Botterill turned that down to try and squeeze more out of Montreal, that is a fireable offense. |

You give Botts a pass for ownership interference but then bury Murray for same thing.
You GM with hand your dealt. Botts has been worse. Botts chose the garbage returns. Botts missed on Mitts. Botts put us over the cap. Botts is going on year 4 when Murray was here for 2.75 years.
All you do is defend Botts. He must be your dad. He is the worst GM in the league. - Fattony1187
GMTM drafted horribly with the picks he decided not to trade away, ignored Rochester, and was wrong with just about every single move he made involving our defense
Like usual, you’re way off |

Gudas can’t hang with Dahlin though
More of a 3rd pair guy
Dillon would be an interesting target if they trade McCabe
Don’t think need both though |

"Habs GM Marc Bergevin had a three-team deal in place that would have sent Pacioretty to the New York Islanders for a first-round pick, which would have then been swapped to the Buffalo Sabres for centre Ryan O’Reilly.
The plan apparently fell through when the Islanders, who held both the 11th and 12th overall picks, drafted prospects Oliver Wahlstrom and Noah Dobson respectively."

Not the 3rd OA. I'm sure Botts double checked everything with you at the draft, but maybe you just misunderstood him. |

If it is fireable and he pushed too hard and he did not get it done, and he is still here then it was not fireable;
Or, it was never on the table and therefore he did not commit a fireable offense.

He should have been fired when he decided the CHL was not good for drafting for 2 years
And reason i think he drafted from the CHl the 3rd year is he got called out by TSN ,buffalo news etc |

If you are taking the BPA you can't pass on guys because they weren't in the CHL. Wanting to draft from overseas or college bound players can be the preferred route for many of the GMs. It gives them more control of the situation and allows the players to develop longer before having to sign them.
TMGM drafted 13 players from the CHL I believe and only one is on the team and two in Rochester. He also drafted 4 Swedes: 1 in Buffalo, 2 in Rochester and 1 still playing in Sweden. Maybe he should have taken less guys from the CHL. |

I'm not sure why everyone thinks we won a trade after a guy plays only 6 games?
Kahun was an undrafted free agent that played overseas.
Am I the only poster that is taking kahun at a slow rate?
Guy hasnt proved anything really to me.... - Boss34
He traded Sheary, who is a UFA after whenever this season ends, and Erod, a borderline nothing player.
He almost won the trade already. |

I agree with you 36, the quote will follow him forever.
At the time he said it, %100 i believe he meant it.
The pegulas have hired and fired coaches, ect.
They spent some money for sure.
I just think things change, growing up, havent you told someone you loved them? 🤔
It was an emotional moment. Not sure if it was scripted? |
