Is Krill Kaprizov ever going to come to North America ?

I’d love to pry him from the Wild, I highly doubt they’d want to move him though.

- Pegullaville

from my understanding he is going to play if the NHL plays in the summer

i would trade casey for the lottery ticket right now

Pretty much echoes my thoughts. Between salary cap, the same GM, limited trade bait and the perceived value of Cozens and this year's pick, don't expect any real moves this offseason.

Re-sign some scrubs and hit again next year

- jcragcrumple

Limited trade bait?
Rhino
Risto
Montour
Miller
Mojo
Tage
Mitts

A low Salary Cap IF played smartly could be the best thing to happen. Opportunity.

I can't accept any of these loser-type excuses.
Get it fvcking done, or get out of the way.

I don't know, you have a pretty good 1st Line, if you can find a good 2C or 2RW that can potentially pot 15 to 20 goals, but can dish the puck to help Skinner. Think Kahun-Cozens-Mojo could make a decent 3rd line, and get a decent 1B goalie you have the Makings of a decent team. Arttu R and Pekar are going to be knocking on the door soon.

Even if they can't CBO Okposo, could you see retaining Simmonds and rotating them into games? Both are getting older and Simmonds in particular has played some heavy minutes. Could play him against more physical teams.
- adambuffalo

I guess
But Okposo actually played well for us
And unless Simmonds comes really cheap,
I’d rather pay the 13th forward as little as possible
Lazar or Asplund would be guys i think could fit into the 13th forward role for cheap

Haha good times.. I still say hes going to make people look stupid and be Bread 2.0
- gerbe75pts

Idk that he’ll be that good
But Jersey acquired him pretty cheap
If i were Botts, I’d have at least been calling Vegas about him
Who knows? Maybe he did & it just didn’t work out
Would love to have Gusev here though
I’ve been talking about him for about 3years now

I think next season
I’m assuming it would cost to get him from Minny

Looks like he was playing LW for the Flyers last year?

Who would be the Sabres 2C if Laughton is the 3C?

- kingcong39

That would depend. If they are going UFA route I would look at Haula/Soderberg/Koivu for a one year stop gap.

If they are looking to make a deal for a smaller name then I guess a guy like Johnson, Bonino, Zajac, or Henrique could make sense.

I’m not sure who is going to be available in the offseason. If the Sharks are looking to blow it up do they make Hertl available ? Would Couture make sense if they retained salary ?

You could make a case for a number of deals for a variety of different players, as long as the value makes sense.

Worth a phone call at least
Has developed as quickly as i think they’d have liked
Maybe he’s frustrated with being in the AHL?
He’s still young & has talent though

If you don't like the contract Henrique has, take a look at Couture's contract.

If you're talking Tyler Johnson from Tampa, I don't think he's a center anymore.

I'd look at any of Haula, Soderberg, and Koivu as a 2 year stop gap, if they can't get someone in a trade.

As much as we all want one or both of Mittelstadt and Cozens to be ready after next year, they can't plan on that with one year deals.

If they play so well that they make it obvious they need to be playing center in key roles, you make the adjustment then, but you certainly don't plan on it for the next 2 years.

Plus, as always, you can move one of the vets you sign to a two year deal to wing if need be.

Agreed with Couture and would add that it's unlikely they would retain any salary with 7 years left on his deal which takes him to 38 y/o.

I would consider Galchenyuk on a 1-2 year prove it deal. He's played so much better at center, but teams keep trying to get him to be a winger. Minnesota put him at center and he has 7 points in 14 games so far and that's with Foligno as one of his wingers.

Wetbandit approves the Galchenyuk suggestion.

I'm fine with that, as long as they bring in somebody else as well to also play center.

Johnson moved to the wing in Tampa but that was due to the wealth of talent they had down the middle. He played in the middle before though

Have we discussed the mismanagement of This team? This case specifically:

- botts trades scandella to Montreal for a 4th. At the time, the Sabres were 9-1 with him in the lineup and under .500 with him out.
-instead of signing pommenville for vet minimum he trades the newly acquired 4th rounder for Frolic, who proves to be useless (1 goal which is an empty netter). Frolics cap hit is a prorated 4.5m
-scandella is traded to stl from Montreal for a 2nd and a conditional 4th
- finally, frolics extra salary puts us over the cap causing a cap penalty for next year of 1.5m. So our 24th place team actually has 1.5m less to spend next year
-I want to not dislike the job Botts has done, and who know whos fault the oreilly trade is, but carp like this is inexcusable. Of course , with the pegulas pleading poverty, he’s not being fired

He's got 4 more years left like Henrique, but at $5M per instead of $5.8M per.

I guess I have more confidence in the guy who has been playing center at least the past 2 years?

Never ever have said he was great, have repeatedly said he has made mistakes and not done enough to flip the script. You just don't like that I don't think it's all his fault and blame Murray for some of the problems of the last 3yrs.

Wonder what Florida would want for his rights, wonder if Weissbach or Rousek would be enough
