You got me,

This run on sentence convinced me that Montreal offered the 3oa pick for ror, and we backed out late

Busy with his real job. Just had a lot dropped on his plate
- Michael Pachla

He’s barely updated it in years

And he still writes
Why not just link his new stuff to his site at least?

If he’s just gonna leave the site in limbo,
why pay to keep it running?

I also say my co-workers who suck at their job don't suck. It's not a good look to throw your co-workers under the bus.

McCabe is trash.

- BeadyEyedDouche

They didn’t ask a general consensus on McCabe
They asked who was the best defensively?
It’s different

Are the goalies nuts?

Stats? General hate for him as a player? Secret Lockport connections?
- Michael Pachla

McCabe is ideally a 3rd pairing D man, but can play second pairing duties with a strong partner. He is not a first pairing D man, and when he got those minutes this year, it showed. I believe that is where at least some of the 'hate' came from.

Because it's a 1-time thing and they have to improvise? Are you seriously asking this question?

So, something that works "once every 4 years" but actually works EVERY time they do it, isn't going to work once, in a different sport, during a pandemic whilst they try to salvage their season... because?

You do know the Ice Hockey Olympics don't play any 7-game series? That any and all hockey tournaments outside of the North American leagues are single-elimination?

The NHL is the outlier here, and they have dozens upon dozens of examples to go by if they're going to scrap the remaining 10 games and 7-game playoffs.

Why do I even bother.

- BeadyEyedDouche

I agree, why do you bother to completely miss the point.

The Olympics and World Cup are short tournament formats, not the culmination of a season of games being played.

To play a round robin format and not series the entire way, again, even if the first round series are best of 3 and the next round or two are best of 5, is a terrible idea.

Again, just my opinion, but I don't believe the NHL would go to an Olympic format for their playoffs for the Stanley Cup. I also don't understand why they would.

Wasn't Baker initially part of The Athletic when it started up, but then was no longer, in part due to how infrequently he contributed?

I am not crushing the guy by any means, it just seems like his day job keeps him very busy and he does not cover prospects full time, while others do.

I can’t tell ya his schedule
But if he’s not gonna add content to his website,
seems silly for him to keep paying to have it up & running

It's a good role for him. Always was a heavy hitting, defensive-minded d-man with a some offensive upside. Injuries have been creeping into the equation

Not just that Homie said “McCabe needs to go”
The general consensus here seems to be he sucks

This is an odd series of half a dozen posts from someone who barks at Flacco regarding his Skinner contract posts "Whining isn't going to change anything."

I really don't mind him, he is fine with the right partner. But if he is used as a piece in a trade that helped us to get better, wouldn't lose any sleep.
