Not by the Hawks. Kelley and Bowman won't take a goalie who may or may not want to come over with a top 10 pick.

He played 1 game in the KHL.

- Elbows15

It doesn't matter anyway. The Hawks are going to win the lottery.

Oh he will be over here .We shall see what Kelly and Stan do with a prospect like this if he falls big If into their lap, may change some minds .Their throwing darts in the late rounds for goalies has not really paid off
Yes 1 game in the KHL ,and a very good one . He also had a very good season in VHL 2nd best men's league in Russia .He is 17 ...

Curious to see how well Sorokin does. He has a coach whom a goaltender should love. Team defense role players although there is room for Leddy too. As Boychuk recovers and ages I look at a former #1 big guy with big shot on pp R Pulock to emerge. But when guys like Mayfield and Toews - lesser lites so to speak - emerge too and contribute in Trotz system, a goaltender has some support.

If we acquire a second #1 2020 mid or late round, then I might pick Askarov there. I might. Your thoughts taking him later in round one?
- jhawk59

There are some great prospects in the latter part of the 1st round who need another few seasons before they may be ready to crack the NHL but could be worth it.

At forward there is Zary, Holloway, Mercer, Bourque, and Ponomaryov. All have solid skating and compete levels with varying offensive skill but still strong attention to defense.

Then at defense there is Schneider, Barron, O'Rourke, and Guhle. Mukhamadullin and Kleven could go 2nd round but 1st is possible. All play physical, prioritize defense, skate well, and contribute offensively.

You never know, though. Vlasic was projected as 1st round and fell to 2nd, then Beecher, Tracey, and Johnson did the opposite.

Seider and Hayton were projected to go much later in the 1st round and went within the top 6. Dellandrea similarly from late round to early teens.

It’s a shame that you can’t cite promising/“good news” data these days without people claiming it must be inaccurate/falsified.

At the same time those same people probably wouldn’t dare question whatever scary/“bad news” data they come across.

- SimpleJack

Or maybe if you feel things paint you in a bad light, you call the person representing a new outlet FAKE NEWS to attempt to mask reality?

I think that is now played out.

The good news will be:
a) when our scientists, manufacturers and "leaders" have spent doing hours finding the appropriate solutions to tracking, inexpensive testing and communicating together with "one goal" not sending dumb people to protesting a foot from each other, fighting the closing of places of worship as if the consensus of Americans feel the law should protect the Job Jones Jamestown jerk offs in the religious sector.
b) every silent carrier is known.
c) when blood of recovering patients is helpful in immunizing.
d) when every smoker sees the target on the Coronavirus bullseye
e) when every one starts their morning while in public with a good work or word.
f) when men dont make decisions for women in terms if their bodies
g) when we see that the NEAR FUTURE for our offspring is one where man made climate change initiatives and or sacrifices start the continuing restoration of the ozone layer so they have a future free of even bigger problems."
h) when you realize it is easy for the richest in the world to cause mis-information chaos make us fight amongst ourselves instead of seeing the reasons they want us divided on this and so many other things.

Holloway and Mercer will probably go Top 15. Maybe Zary, too. Not a fan of Guhle at all In fact I kinda hope the Hawks take Mercer/Holloway over Lundell. More upside. Lundell has some skating concerns for me.

Yeah, not too high in Guhle out of that D draftee bunch. I hear mixed reviews on not just him but also his older brother who was drated a few years ago.

Lundell is as he has been described lately: a safe pick. May end up being a really good 3C but could be hard pressed to be a 2C. I wouldn't waste a top 10 pick on a safe pick.

I also think greater impact forwards could be had with Holloway and Mercer if the pick is in the early teens.

Or possibly Bourque and Ponomaryov (teammates at Shawinigan in the Q) if the pick is in the late teens or 20s.

Zary, too, but he could be a safe pick as a great 3C like Lundell.

Even though the 2010 team was my favorite and it was so great to end the drought, the 2013 run is probably my favorite.

Beating NSH, VAN, SJ and PHI was great but beating DET and BOS even better.

Was at game 4 at the Joe. Of course the Day-tois fans didn't like Seabs going to the box to give Toews a pep talk and let them both hear it.

I had my Toews jersey on and was chirped quite a bit leaving the building after that game.

Really can't blame Toews for losing his mind. I get the refs pocket their whistles during the playoffs but Zetterberg was draped around Toews for most of that game and only JT was getting sent to the box.

Was so great to see them fight off the adversity and come back from 3-1. If it wasn't forged in the NSH series in '10, garnering a rep of being a really tough team to put away was earned in this series.

Yeah, both have upside and Zary kept doing the things on the ice that kept his name in the conversation.

Lundell is highly touted on some fronts because of his over all smarts skill, feet hands, and you doubt hear praises probably because teams are hoping he stays on the boards.
His biggest knock is so far he hasn't wow factored with big goals...he simply is a junior player who is an advanced level 200 foot player and his ability to read and react offensively is REALLY high level, mostly results with high end et ups, but there IS a lot to like.
There are always players that get pigeon-holed away from being chosen early; I am not gonna call his a Patrice Bergeron clone but he has got on ice qualities that make him seem more than a safe pick, but one who might flourish into a guy whose offensive game progresses nicely.

Yes Lundell or maybe Jack Quinn would be my 2a after Askarov . Halloway was brought back to earth this year a bit Mercier will need a lot of work ,and looks like a late 1st rounder maybe .

And nobody knows how many have contracted it.
- mohel

We may never know the denominator, so it’ll be impossible, until we’re way past the virus to know the death rate of infected people. Unless you know how many people have been exposed, we won’t know how deadly it’s is. That’s why replicating the Stanford/Santa Clarita study is important. My GUESS is the death rate is way under 1%, probably pretty close to the death rate of the flu.

One thing we do know, 20% of deaths In the USA have happened in nursing homes. If you’re 65+, or have a confounding condition, you don’t clearly don’t want to be in a closed environment with other people.

Are you referring to the worldometer site referenced earlier?

The way I read it shows about 40 states with less than 100 deaths per 1M in population. That's less than 1 death per 10, 000 population, not 1 death per 10,000 who contracted it.

- boilermaker100

Mohel is correct, the important number is death rate of those infected.

#Deaths / #Infected = Death rate from exposure

Beach was a disappointment even though I wish they at least gave them a game in the show. He certainly was entertaining in Rockford. He was responsible for the grand rapids brawl when he jumped Sheanen after horribly officiating. Then turtled to tristen grant. And also stirred up more poop. If he wouldof turned out like lucic it would of been great. I basically thought he'd end up like Brouwer as a nhl with more pim and fights.

Yep. I was there and saw it for myself. To this day I say Kyle Beach is the biggest POS ever on a hawks roster. And I go back to the early 60's watching them, which for the youngens is four years before I ever saw a color television. Olimb was a waterbug out there, most effective player in camp that year. It seemed to me that he was stealing Beach's thunder so the big (frank) thought a beatdown was in order. What a (frank)ing bumhole.

He wasn't a wife beater like bobby hull. Or lazy paycheck player like Alexander karpotsev
