It does feel like we're into the offseason. If they resume, I'd say go right to the playoffs, with the normal setup.
Are you flying much lately? - mohel
Seems to me the biggest issue would be they kind of will all be out of shape. Can see some bad injuries happening. |

True. Probably need a three week training camp. Someone also pointed out that Russian players who went home might not be able to get back. There are hurdles, but I think they should find reasons and ways TO play rather than reasons not to play. If it turns out that they can't, then fine. |

Same with me, sicker than I've ever been in late Jan after being in NYC and Sarasota.
Gone in 36 hours, body aches like I've never had, fever spiked to 103.8 during the first night.
Wanting to get the antibody test. - vabeachbear
Funny how the rich and famous, get tested end up positive, retested, and keep getting tested until they are declared virus free. Which is bull poop for everyone else who can't get tested

1 positive it's not a 4 year deal, 1 yr deal, he actually was a starter in NFL. But yea a bit steep for an older player even though he was the 2nd leader receiver in GB the past 2 yrs. |

Pretty sure they can't come back.
I have technicians who install the stuff I sell. About 80% of these techs come from the plants in Germany and the UK. We can't do any of our installs, because we can't get them on a plane.
Right now, have a meeting Monday to contingency plan for installation starts. Going to start July 1 now, but most of us don't think we'll be able to get folks on international flights to the US before Aug or Sept. |

Graham is a reach at this point, imo, which seems caused by a bad signing (Burton) and a draft bust (Shaheen).
Hopefully Graham does okay. |

Still think something very strange about all of this, and us normal folks don't know, and probably never will.
Too many weird things going on that seems illogical. |

I'm always up for a good conspiracy theory, personally wouldn't be surprised China used this in an attempt to reduce their population. Where's powerenforcer when you need him? |

One thing that amazes me is the difference between NY/NJ and California. Huge number of flights from China into both places. Both with huge population centers. Both started mitigation within a day or two of each other. NY/NJ has 20 times the number of deaths as CA. CA has 750 cases per million people. Illinois has 2,100. Big differences. |

Flying a little, in mostly empty planes. I’m on call right now, but I doubt I’ll get used. Then starting May 1st I’ll be on a leave of absence for at least 30 days. |

When China decided to drastically reduce travel within the country, it would've been courteous to ban people from flying to other countries.
If they had, we might be watching playoff hockey. |

To: those whom particularly want to select Askarov, the opposite glove Russian goaltender whom wiz has ranked just below the assumed Chicago spot in the Mock Entry Draft
There is another possibility to pick him later in round one. Teams may pass on him initially because fear of the player remaining in his home country. Askarov returning if he is unsatisfied with his lot in his NHL experience. Remember goaltenders take liongest to develop (usually the case)
So a scenario could be where the attitude to choose Askarov snowballs and he is sitting pretty tempting .mid to late first round
Would or could a team which may already have made a first round selection, offer up? What determining factors go into making and accepting a trade?
Dies the team with the later first round pick insist on a swap of current rostered NHL players. The thinking being so that the following summer they now have two or more attractive pieces they leave unprotected for the expansion draft.
In essence try to control what impact or key)core players you have after the draft. This may result in another ore-draft trade with Seattle. And if a team trades for a mud or later first round ''20 pick, what prospect do you offer up....do you also exchange first fir their #2 in 2021?
Down the road what value dies Beaudin have after the 2020 - '21 season. Is that when you try to grab Askarov through trade?
I am just spitballing ideas how to get Askarov into a Blackhawks uniform. The suggestions I made I feel strongly are realistic and could be modified. Perhaps Bowman does not believee in drafting a goaltender in round one, not with a very early pick anyway....but Bowman wants a future highly rated netminder. If so, how and when? |

Hey Mo. one major difference is that the population in CA is much more spread out. People drive everywhere, and trains are rarely used. LA has nowhere near the door traffic of NY, so people are more spread out. I’m quite surprised that there isn’t a bigger difference between SF and LA, but I’m sure there are other reasons for that. |

A city that relies on public transportation, subways, buses, if you live in Manhattan you most likely live in a high rise building so in and out of elevators, work in a high rise building, makes sense to me why they are being hit so hard |

Plus cold weather season = less outside time.
Sunshine and fresh air are nature’s disinfectant. Much more bountiful in that regard on the Left Coast. |

Hi Chunk. Those reasons seem legit and certainly explain some of the differences. But 20 times the deaths is a huge number.
