Hi Ek,

Robin Lehner passed on the Hurricanes this summer. Petr Mrazek is only expected to be out about a week. Their 3rd string goalie, Alex Nedeljkovic, was the AHL goaltender of the year last season.

There was no reason to trade a 1st round pick for a guy that you don't really need and it's highly unlikely you'll be able to sign.

Also there is no evidence to suggest that Craig Anderson or Louis Domingue would be better than Nedeljkovic or even Anton Forsberg. Ryan Miller MAYBE, but he wasn't traded to anyone, so who knows if he was even available.

The big loser was the GM who gave an entire draft for a 3rd liner then gave said 3rd liner 6 years for 5 milion per when he desperatately needed a true top 6 forward.

These "predictions" change every day - and still manage to be totally wrong by the end of the season...
