8 X 8.5. Though I could see somebody overpaying him 7 x 10. Especially if we have another deep playoff run this year. |

Just a heads up. I got an email from the Chicago Wolves that the stanley cup will be at the December 22nd game. |

St Louis cost of living is great, great area, wife from here, amazing Alumni.
These are factors in favor of a "reasonable" deal. I think 8X8.5 should get it done if the Blues see him staying of value for most of the contract. Seems like a player that will age well. |

I would go up to $9.5M for 7 years if need be or $9M for eight, considering his wife if from St. Louis should help a little. Armstrong needs to get rid of Faulk, that was a miserable trade and sign, Faulk is worse than Bob Hess who was a horrible number one pick a long time ago. Every hockey writer questioned Faulk's defense and could not understand why he made the trade when the disposed of Shattenkirk because he was horrible defensively. I hope he can pawn him off to Seattle or another team who could use him before the new contract kicks in with a 5 year no trade clause! |

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets exactly that. Josi set the bar, and they are both turning 30 at the start of these extensions. Josi is signed until he is 38, which is certainly concerning, but he has yet to show any signs of slowing down. I think Pietrangelo should be very close to that, Ideally 6 years, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets 8. |

Have to keep Petro playing the best hockey of his career since January. I’d give between 8-9.5 for 8 years. Maybe 10. Not willing to loose him over half a million. Bouw and Gunnar are almost done even if we keep Faulk. Might lose Dunn which would suck but he can be replaced. Steens contract is up soon enough and that means a lot of money. He’s playing a 4th line role (if the Blues have a 4th line) and is overpaid at that angle. I don’t think he is overpaid for what he brings to the team but there are other players out there.
Bottom line: Keep Petro. Give him 8-10 for 8 years. He is a player that will stay healthy and productive I think.
Better snap this 3 game losing streak. It’s my birthday dammit.

Bad signing. Not a bad trade. I loved Eddy but the dude always turned the puck over and would take bad penalties. I think they offered Bortz but that was rejected. Ha ha |
