I wondered how long before people trip over themselves to minimize his career accomplishments. Well done.

you can argue about what it takes to coach a Team Canada to an Olympic gold

consider what it takes to be regarded well enough by Hockey Canada to be their #1 choice

Well he got the nod for the first gold team because of the Detroit teams....then he got the nod for the 2nd gold team because of the 1st time's success...

Plenty of terrible coaches have won Stanley Cups since they aren't the ones who play the game.

right? like why go after somebody with proven results

much smarter to get someone who hasn't had any success at that level yet

we can all agree that a talented team can carry a bad coach

but please show me this long list of terrible coaches who've won Stanley Cups

Just my opinion. I'm Canadian and have thought he's overrated for quite some time now.

Yes, he was hired because his NHL team had very good results around then...so why not hire him the second time if the first time worked out so well? Its all very logical haha

If it even exists it would be short. Im not saying he's a terrible coach. Just saying he isnt the hockey demi-god he's made out to be by some aka overrated.

Babcock isn't the greatest, but he's probably forgotten more about the pro game than RW has ever even known. Doesn't this guy coach little kids or something?

What do you honestly think these coaches know that intelligent hockey fans don’t know?

I hate Babcock, but at some point you have to give him credit, at least for the Ducks 03 run. He had great goaltending, ok, same for lots of other teams.

That Ducks team was not good at all. Let's not ghive Burns credit then for that 03 cup win because of Brodeur..

Feds shows up and talks down to everyone here like you think you're the cat's meow. I know that if a coach treated people like that, he wouldn't have a team for long. So, basically, we know that he's a bit smarter about not being a jerk to people than you are....

Ignoring Feds for embarrassing my hometown team, Babcock has won at every level. He just must keep getting lucky. Time after time again.

This, not just hockey but life in general people tend to think that if some one is in a position higher than them that they must be smarter or have more knowledge. Not the case whatsoever. Sure yes some are good and deserve the position they have, but there's plenty who dont.
