Phil Kessel over Maxi Domi wow .... just wow. - hawken
I think you should save the overreactions for something that warrants them. I pretty clearly spelled out why I don't like Domi, so what I would say to you is, am I not allowed to have personal feelings, or am I only supposed to like hockey players based on their overall rankings?

I've consistently said he sucks, so you are thinking about someone else.
I'll quadruple down on, it's an excellent take. We're allowed to have opinions aren't we? I mean, isn't that what I'm paid for? - James_Tanner
You say you dont like him as a person, but you dont know him as a person. Maybe say you dont like his public persona instead. I wouldn't say I dont like you as a person, because I dont know you as a person. I don't like your wannabe, low-rent Ryan Lambert public persona

Oh stop with the BS> people all have their opinions and almost all of them are based on public persona. You guys would whine about anything for FFS. I don't like Max Domi, and I don't like Kid Rock and I don't like half the commentors on this site. I don't know any of them.

Credit where credit is due, you drive clicks for an irrelevant franchise. I respect your game.
I think this weird hate-on you have for Domi is gross and should be below someone who - as you point out - is paid to write about hockey players professionally.
You can do your job of being an irreverent contrarian without calling people you dont know "a bad person," as you have

Should be, but I'll leave you with the following:
They don't write, mostly, but they're commentators nonetheless.
I don’t understand why you hate Domi so much? He is a legitimate good guy in the league. Plus he’s fun to watch and has a good edge...is a team leader. I have never heard anyone say they don’t like his game OR personality. So I am truly baffled by your dislike of him.
With that said, Kessel is a million times better! I’ve watched every single one of Domi games and he’s great, but man Kessel is special. Sure in 4 years it’ll suck but for this season Kessel is what the team needs, not Domi.
Coyotes WILL make the playoffs this year, even if they sputter a few more games. Chychrun is looking amazing, Kessel and Stepan have been phenomenal, garland and Dvorak look like they’ve taken steps. Kuemper is playing great. And I haven’t even mentioned OEL, Keller, Schmaltz, Raanta, or Hayton who have all had slow starts but everyone knows will hit their stride.
Tomorrow may never know, Pete. But, Tanner always does, my man. Never been wrong, never been bested.
How could hacks like Sir Paul or John hold a candle to the great Michael Stipe???
I might take a trip down to my local Walmart just to tell Mr. Stipe just how great his music is. I hope his shift hasn’t ended yet!

Absolutely but as a blogger you should hold yourself to a higher standard than just having an opinion for the hell of it. I would also say that you're not paid just to have an opinion. You should be getting paid to develop informed and reasonable opinions, not just any old opinion with no rational basis. Very rarely do you read commentary on a player from a hockey analyst where an opinion on a player is based on whether you like him or not. Rather than how good of an actual player he is.
My only other thought is, are there any other metrics or ways of evaluating a player beside his CF%? Any proponent of hockey analytics worth his salt knows that CF% is not the whole ball of wax and analysis based only on that is below half-assed.
As far as I know Domi is a conservative. It's likely Tanner is just far left politically and is one of those people who can't admit there are good people with different opinions.
At least, that's all I can come up with. Domi has tweeted a few conservative things. Beyond that...I haven't any idea.

I have no idea why he doesn't like Domi and I'm not going to guess why. As a blogger when you state an opinion, you should elaborate. For instance I think player A had a poor game. Well why did he have a poor game? The equivalent of what Tanner has done is state that "I'm allowed to have an opinion and people say players have bad games all the time." That's simply not effective analysis or blogging.
