Greetings, citizens of Leafs Nation, as well as those who aren’t here legally and are talking jobs away from hard-working Leafs fans. We will round you up and deport you – but not until you have recorded your predictions.

It's back! The Official Toronto Maple Leafs Prediction Thread. This time with 25% more riboflavin!

You know the drill. Cut and paste the template (below) and fill out your predictions for the year. There are no real rules - put down point totals, beeyotchy insults, general thoughts - I don't particularly care.

AT puck-drop time on opening night I'll get a ref to lock the thread, and your predictions will be frozen in time – much like Marincin at the Leafs’ blueline.

DO NOT MOCK OTHER GUYS' PREDICTIONS IN THIS THREAD!

Do that in the main Leafs threads. But simple rule - if you want to rip a guy a new one for a stupid prediction, you had better have made your own (stupid) predictions first. Otherwise, you’ll have to frank right off to the Spanish vineyards.

There are no prizes. I will not declare an official winner. Rather, the purpose of this exercise is for you to demonstrate your Leafy geniousness, and to allow others to witness your glory.

So without further ado...

Fist.

The Leafs will finish: 2nd Atlantic, 3rd overall

The main reason for this is: firepower, improved defense

The biggest surprise will be: Ceci won't be horrible

The biggest disappointment will be: Ander5sen will poop the bed again in the playoffs and special teams will be awful.

The unsung hero will be: Moore

The goat will be: Ander5sen

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Barrie, he will be meh on offense and horrible on defense

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Ceci, Babcock will get him playing a simpler game.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was:
Good deals for Kapanen and Johnsson

If I was GM, I would have: Let Marner sit

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: They still haven't figure out how to win.

The Leafs will finish:1st in the Atlantic

The main reason for this is: TB is slightly better but I find it tough to see them motivated all season long after last season.

The biggest surprise will be: William Nylander(underpaid)

The biggest disappointment will be: Mitch Marner(overpaid)

The unsung hero will be: Jake Muzzin

The goat will be: Freddy the Goat...?

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): I wouldn’t say this guy sucks but he’s overrated and that’s Liljegren...he hasn’t really gotten much better in the past 2 years other than his defensive game.

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Marty Marincin, he’s a number 6/7 D in the NHL.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: Tyson Barrie trade

If I was GM, I would have: Fished more, he seems like a city guy.

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: William Nylander scores 75+ points and the Leafs finish in the top 8 in GAA.

The Leafs will finish: 1st in Eastern conference with 116 points.

The main reason for this is: Leafs will lead the league in Goals for per game and have a top3 PP.

The biggest surprise will be: Alexander Kerfoot becoming Matthews' LW and being really good at it (60+ point season)

The biggest disappointment will be: Johnsson and Kapanen. Will be good 3rd/4th liners still, but Kerfoot, Mikheyev and Moore will eventually pass him on the team's depth chart.

The unsung hero will be: Hyman. One of the leaders of this team. His dad will try to get part of Tannenbaum's holding company's ownership share in MLSE during this season .

The goat will be: Freddy the GOAT will be earning a lot of respect from Babcock and Leafs' fans - doing really well with the limited minutes he'll get. Best player on the team will be Mitch Marner, with Tavares as a close second best.

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Ceci. (he is not good at defending)

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Gauthier (in very limited minutes he'll get, he'll deliver on what will be asked: make sure the other team doesn't score, and actually eventually spend more time in the offensive zone.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: add Mikheyev.

If I was GM, I would have: traded for a solid backup goalie that can actually get 30+ points from 30 games) and traded at least one of Kapanen / Johnsson / Bracco for a proper #4 D man to play with Rielly.

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs:
Let's pray Andersen doesn't get injured.

Player Predictions

The Forwards:

A. Matthews, C - 90 points (49 goals) - due to missing 15 games during the season.
F. Gauthier, C - Will be a Babcock favorite - we'll see him quite a bit during last minute of games while defending a lead.
J. Spezza, C - Will eventually be the 3rd line C with Kerfoot moving to 2nd line LW and Nylander not fit for the 3C. Spezza with Mikheyev and Moore will be a very good 3rd line.
J. Tavares, C - 50 goal season (103 points). Will be awarded the C before start of season.

Z. Hyman, LW - great as always on the Tavares-Marner line. 50+ points.
A. Johnsson, LW - will be ok, but not spectacular. 39 points as a 3rd line LW.
D. Timashov, LW - waived and picked up by Columbus (Ott just couldn't do it).
M. Marchment, LW - AHL.

M. Marner, RW - 115 points for Mitch Marner. 80 assists.
J. Bracco, RW - AHL
T. Moore, RW - great season for him. Will eventually get some time on the PP. 40 points.
W. Nylander, RW - a good although not spectacular season. 65 points, quite a few on the PP.
N. Petan, RW - will be the 13th FW. will get 15 games or so. 10 points in them.
M. Read, RW - no contract.
K. Kapanen, RW - will be on the 3rd/4th line. 40 points. good on the PK though and will play a bigger role in the playoffs than in the regular season.
A. Kerfoot, RW - one of the surprises of the season, since he'll be on Matthews' LW. Will get 60+ points - and together with Barrie be part of a really good 2nd PP unit.
Y. Korshkov, RW - will be waived (since no waivers) but back with the team when required. 30 games, 12 points this season. Next season he'll be a fix on the 4th line.

MIKHEYEV - will do really well in his 1st season - big part of the PK (FW pairing with Marner). Will score a few SH goals. Eventually with Spezza and Moore on the 3rd line. 35 points.
Shore - will be waived but a first call-up early in the season since he can play C and kill penalties.

The Defence:

M. Rielly, D - loves to be on the PP with Marner. 60 points. Will be glad Dermott will be back after his injury to be his d-partner.
J. Schmaltz, D - waived and AHL.
J. Muzzin, D - will be big part of an improved PK.
K. Gravel, D - Marlies 6/7 d-guy.
B. Harpur, D - Marlies 6/7 d-guy.
J. Holl, D - will be 7th d-man at start of season. will replace Ceci after 10-15 games in the lineup as a bottom D-guy (when Dermott is back to play with Rielly).
M. Marincin, D - he'll be solid this season. good on the improved PK. Thicker.
T. Dermott, D - will impress after returning from injury - will play with Rielly. After the season we will say that Leafs should have signed him to an extension earlier.
C. Ceci, D - will not be good. the poor guy is a bottom pairing D guy, but Leafs have better and cheaper options for that. In the press-box by end of November.
T. Barrie, D - very solid year from him. Will be a bit better defensively than most think, although not great. His point totals will suffer a bit from not being on the top PP unit, but will still get 50 points.
Sandin&Liljegren will be on the team end of regular season - possibly jointly as the 3rd D-pairing.

The Goalies:

F. Andersen, G - .920 - 2.65GAA. 5 shutouts. will need to play 60 games still due to no proper backup early in the season. Will need to show in the playoffs whether he can be the guy.
M. Hutchinson, G - .895 - 3.5GAA. will play 8 games, but not great. will be replaced eventually by another backup goalie.
K. Kaskisuo, G - AHL starting goalie first half of the season; Woll will take over the Marlies net 2nd half of the season and will be Leafs backup next season.

The Leafs will finish: 2nd in the Atlantic and 3rd in the East.

The main reason for this is: Hella skilled team. All world goalie.

The biggest surprise will be: La Chèvre. Not because I think he's all that good but the 4th line is always better when he plays. People will, or at least should, notice it when he's healthy scratched.

The biggest disappointment will be: Ceci. Not that there's a whole lot to like, though.

The unsung hero will be: Andreas Johnsson.

The goat will be: La Chèvre

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Petan. He just flat out ain't any good.

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): I don't know if people really think he sucks or anything but he's not getting the respect he deserves. Liljegren.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: Trading for Tyson Barrie.

If I was GM, I would have: Made it a team policy that the second a players agent decides to negotiate a players contract through the media, that agent is done with the team.

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: They will get out of the 1st round this year and Roger will be angry when Babcock isn't fired.

The Leafs will finish: 2nd in the Atlantic, 2nd overall

The main reason for this is: Offence and fewer goals against, better special teams

The biggest surprise will be: Kapanen

The biggest disappointment will be:Muzzin, will be plagued with injuries

The unsung hero will be: Hyman will step his game significantly

The goat will be: Marincin ( goat as in poop not greatest of all time)
The goat will be : Matthews (as in greatest of all time - for captain underpants)

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Johnsson is pretty good especially for a 7th round pick, but takes too many stupid penalties and loses physical battles regularly.

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Ceci more limited exposure on a good team instead of beina a go-to guy on a horrible team

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: unload Zaitsev

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Ceci, life on a loaded leafs team stops him from trying to do too much, and he stops looking like an idiot as such

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was:

The Leafs will finish: either in third behind Tampa and Boston or in a wild card spot.

The main reason for this is: slow start, missing Hyman and Dermott, level of change to the roster

The biggest surprise will be: Mikheyev, could steal the RW spot occupied by Nylander, if Nylander continues to play on the periphery all year.

The biggest disappointment will be: Kerfoot and Nylander. Kerfoot may turn into a useful winger but will prove a problem at center ice.

The unsung hero will be: Andersen & Muzzin

The goat will be: Spezza & Nylander

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Kerfoot, peripheral player with speed. May get packaged with Dermott for an upgrade on defense if Sandin proves to be the real deal.

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Ceci, won’t be stellar but won’t be a disaster playing on a better team.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: Trade with Colorado – unfortunately Kerfoot ends up being a bit of bust

If I was GM, I would have:
Dealt Johnsson and Dermott to Buffalo for Ristolainen,
Ceci and Petan to WPG for Lowry and 2nd round pick, Timashov to Pittsburgh for Jarry G

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs:

Nylander is a peripheral player, Kerfoot will be a constant reminder to the fan base of how much they miss Kadri.

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): I wouldn’t say this guy sucks but he’s overrated and that’s Liljegren...he hasn’t really gotten much better in the past 2 years other than his defensive game.

- Santo_44

And... that defensive game doesn't matter? Sort of important, don't you think?

I would rather have him improving his defensive game, than his offensive game. If he turns into a dependable two way dman that scores 30 points, I'll consider that a huge success and filling a big need for the Leafs.

The Leafs will finish: 4th overall.

The main reason for this is: There will be three teams with more points at the end of the season.

The biggest surprise will be: Beating Boston in a game 7.

The biggest disappointment will be: Spezza

The unsung hero will be: A Kerfoot/Mikheyev duo having a strong, silent season, doing well on both ends of the ice.

The goat will be: Playing well in a limited 4th line/PK role. He comes in second place on my unsung hero list.

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Marincin? Nobody thinks he's good, (I should hope) but the people who think he's even remotely close to an NHL calibre player is overrating him. Spezza? He may be done.

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Ceci. I think he'll be fine.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: The Johnsson/Kap deals.

If I was GM, I would have: Not bothered with Spezza. I liked the move at first, but his entire camp has been awful. He's toast. PROVE ME WRONG, JASON.

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: Stay calm and stay the course. We aren't there yet, but we will be.

The Leafs will finish:

3rd in the division. Tampa will lap the field, and I think it will be closer with Boston this year. Coin flip between Boston and Toronto for 2nd, but 50 years of Leafyness has made me a tad pessimistic. Both teams right around 100 points, as the entire division will be better this year - not as many free points.

The main reason for this is: defence is better. Melander will hopefully find his form again. But the Atlantic is stacked this year - Montreal, Buffalo and Florida will all be better.

The biggest surprise will be: I don't know - that's what will make it a surprise! OK, OK, it will be that we won't miss Hyman. The next guy up can fill that role.

The biggest disappointment will be: Spezza. I don't think he has anything left to give.

The unsung hero will be: Johnsson. He'll be the best player per dollar on the team.

The goat will be: Ceci. Yeah, I really wish this wasn't the case. But there you have it.

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): OK, bare with me here, but I'm going to put Sandin. I don't think he sucks, but I am terribly worried that Leafs Nation will anoint him the next Lidstrom, and then turn on him when he struggles. So I'm getting this out early - he's not nearly as good as fan boys are making him out to be right now. Let's keep it realistic. This has been a public service message by Atomic Wedgie.

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Hutchinson. He'll be fine - Leafs fans put too much importance on the quality of backup goalie. FFS, he'll be fine.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: getting Colorado to eat salary on Barrie. That's a franking game-changer.

If I was GM, I would have: front-loaded Ceci's contract, making him tradeable. If he sucks, he sucks with us for the entire season.

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: perhaps the best Leafs team of my lifetime, but Tampa Bay may be the best NHL team of the last 30-40 years. Bad timing.

Player Predictions

The Forwards:

A. Matthews, C: this is the year where he steps up and lets the league know he's the second best player in the league. 50 goals.

F. Gauthier, C: FFS, can you just learn to use your body? It's like watching Joe Colborne all over again. I really have no expectations for this guy this year.

J. Spezza, C: nope. I loved this signing for a couple of weeks, before it dawned on me that we weren't getting 2006 Jason Spezza. He may get Marlie'd.

J. Tavares, C: 50 goals is possible, as I'm assuming he'll get a little more ice time. I'm also guessing he gets the C.

N. Shore, C: say hi to Duke the Dog for me.

Z. Hyman, LW: Leafs Nation over-rates this guy. So does Babcock, unfortunately. I get that Babs wants a grinder to go with two elite players, but you could get just about anybody to do that. My prediction is he will be terrible when he gets back (not his fault, but injuries are a female dog when you miss training camp). Sorry, but he'll be in my dog house.

A. Johnsson, LW: Dubas may have overpaid on Marner, but this is a good contract. This kid plays much bigger than his 5'10" frame. I think he continues to improve this year, and Wedgie says nice things about him after games.

D. Timashov, LW: I don't really have a lot to judge this guy on, so let's just say I think he will be meh, should he make the big club and stick.

M. Marchment, LW: let's talk about him next year, because he isn't relevant this year.

K Agostino, LW: He's a good example of how Dubas' strategy of picking up guys for the fourth line while paying peanuts may work. But I don't think he plays for the Leafs unless there are injuries.

M. Marner, RW: He looked pretty damn good in the pre-season. He's overpaid by $1 million, but Leafs Nation needs to get over it and just enjoy him for what he does. matching last year's points totals sounds about right.

J. Bracco, RW: Classic case of not good enough for top 6, not gritty enough for bottom 6. Will only get a sniff if there are major injuries. For his sake, I hope they trade him to a team with less forward depth, so he gets a chance. But the S.S. Leafs has already sailed, and Bracco has been left on the dock.

T. Moore, RW: I hope he can help on the PK, but I don't see him in the top 9 once Hyman gets back.

W. Nylander, RW: As much as I want to continue to rip on this greedy bastard, I must put my personal feelings aside and focus on what's best for Leafs Nation - getting Nylander to use his shot more, so that Matthews ultimately gets more goals (as goalie won't know who to cover). He's going to be better than last year - he'd better be! I'm going to say less than a PPG, but still good enough numbers that trolls can't say he's overpaid.

N. Petan, RW: I thought he looked good in pre-season, but Babs disagreed. May see some Leafy time this year, but he's not a game-changer.

M. Read, RW: I hope you enjoy the Marlies.

K. Kapanen, RW: he's a shocking stat: he's 3 inches taller than Johnsson. That really surprised me when I found that out - he certainly doesn't play bigger than Johnsson. Leafs fans have over-rated this guy, but for the money he's making (peanuts), I'm fine with him. 50 points is his ceiling, and I don't think he will get there. But so much depends on who he gets to play with. His speed is fun, but he needs to get his nose dirty - and I don't think he's capable.

A. Kerfoot, RW: Still an enigma to me. I didn't watch him too closely in pre-season, but he didn't really stand out. I"m a little scared he may turn out to be a bad contract, although at $3.5 million cap hit, we can always get rid of him. He has 20 games to make me like him - after that, I'm drinking pure Haterade.

Y. Korshkov, RW: Oh FFS, why did we take this guy in the 2nd round?

I. Mikheyev, RW: will probably stick with the big club since he is waiver-exempt. If he can bang the bodies on the boards, Babs may fall in love with him. 30 point ceiling. Prove me wrong.

The Defence:

M. Rielly, D: Forgive me, I'm a Leafs fan. I'm psychologically damaged. So I"m predicting a bit of a drop off from last year, where he was top 10 defencemen in the league. This prediction is based upon nothing but a horrible feeling in my gut, which may be nothing more than me staying up last night and drinking beer while watching football. But there you have it: he'll regress this year a little in both numbers and overall play. Gawd, I hate being a Leafs fan.

J. Schmaltz, D: Who?

J. Muzzin, D: I'm not nearly as sold on this guy as the rest of youse guys are. Do I think he's good? Yes. Do I think he was worth a 1st rounder? Nope. So my initial thought is I hope we don't sign him past this year, because that will quickly become an albatross of a contract. I still don't think the Leafs have a D-corp to be truly an elite team, and I think Muzzin is a big part of that problem.

K. Gravel, D: Who?

B. Harpur, D: Why?

J. Holl, D: Sorry, but your time has run out. He won't get a chance with the Leafs. I hope he gets claimed elsewhere and gets a chance.

M. Marincin, D: Why the frank is he still here?

T. Dermott, D: Another guy who Leafs Nation over-rates. I'm going to cut him some slack - he was franking terrible in the playoffs, but that was not his fault - he was clearly still injured. But is he really going to be able to come back from injury in December and be good? I doubt it. I think he's going to be the 6th-7th guy this year.

C. Ceci, D: I predict he is going to suck. What more do you need here?

T. Barrie, D: Another guy who I know almost nothing about, so let's just hope he can give us all the Gardiner we gave up, with a little less of the Gardinurrr we shipped out. I predict that his point totals will be high, but that will give people a false sense of how good the guy is.

T. Kivihalme, D: I couldn't pick him out of a police lineup.

R. Sandin, D: Please, for the love of God, let's not go all crazy on this kid, calling him the next Lidstrom - pretty please? I know how this works here in Leafstown - praise the hell out of him, then let that pendulum swing and call him a bust - which we can do before Christmas. I think he's going to run hot and cold. I think he's nothing more than a 3rd pairing. I think he has a bright future, but for frank's sakes - let's keep it real. At least until November 1st.

T. Liljegren: I'm really hoping he has a great 2020 training camp.

The Goalies:

F. Andersen, G: I have to be careful here, because my daughter loves him, and she can beat me up. I don't think he's top 10 in the league. I think he is next tier. I think he's good enough to get us to a conference finals, and then we roll the dice. But he lets in too many weak ones.

M. Hutchinson, G: "Hutch is clutch!" I'm hoping I say that more than "Hutch? Not so much!" this year. I think he's good enough to be our backup this year.

K. Kaskisuo, G: Career minor-leaguer.

The League:

Eastern Conference Winners: Tampa Bay. By at least 10 points.

Most surprising team: Buffalo
Most disappointing team: St. Louis

Art Ross Winner: Kucherov. Yeah, I know it's a boring pick, but he won by 12 points last year - and I think Tampa will be just as good.

The Leafs will finish: 2nd in Atlantic, 2nd in East

The main reason for this is: Tampa bay will be juggernauts again

The biggest surprise will be: Sandin. He'll be even better than we think even at this moment.

The biggest disappointment will be: Barrie. He'll be fine, but I don't think he'll crack 50 points

The unsung hero will be: Trevor Goddamn Moore

The goat will be: Mitch.

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Mikhayev (lack of finish) - I think he'll be fine in his role, but will get more love than he deserves

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Ceci (No longer dragging around other poopty sens D for 20+ mins a night).

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: Not panic.

If I was GM, I would have: Done almost everything the same, but probably signed Marner before last season if possible.

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: Willie is going to hit at least 70-75 points

The Leafs will finish: 3rd Atlantic, 8th overall

The main reason for this is: forwards are strong and Nylander bounces back, improved defense. Other teams improve in other divisions.

The biggest surprise will be: Ceci isn't as bad as people fear

The biggest disappointment will be: Kerfoot. Kadri will rock in Denver.

The unsung hero will be: Andersen. Guy gets no respect despite keeping the leaf in games.

The goat will be: Andersen because the fanbase is bipolar. Half the people think this guy is good, but the other half thinks he sucks because they don't know what team defense is.

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Barrie, he will be good on offense and a defensive liability

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Ceci. He was asked to do too much and couldn't live up to the hype. Lowered expectations and playing a simpler game will do wonders.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: not trading Nylander.

If I was GM, I would have: Let Marner sit until Xmas or later.

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: They will be good entertainment in the regular season, fighting for the President's Trophy as regular season champions.

The Leafs will finish: 2nd in the Atlantic, 3rd in the East

The main reason for this is: Great offense; young stars entering their prime years, and offense from the defense

The biggest surprise will be: Cody Ceci will be decent in his role beside Rielly; Nylander will post more than 70pts.

The biggest disappointment will be: Tyson Barrie, while good, will be the goat on more nights than he's the hero; Spezza will look old; Kerfoot will struggle for a couple of months

The unsung hero will be: Moore

The goat will be: Ceci; regardless of how he plays, I think people's minds are pretty set about him

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Spezza because of time. Or realistically - Kapanen because he is a very one-dimensional player.

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Gauthier. Don't get me wrong. He sucks, but if he isused in a proper manner with a clear role, he can be effective.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: Keeping everyone together and upgrading the D while staying under the cap.

If I was GM, I would have: Not done as well of a job. I'd have been inclined to set a line in the sand for Marner at $9.8m.

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: They are a very good team. One of the top 4 teams in hockey. But they are also in the same division as Tampa and Boston, who also in the top 4 teams in hockey.

Most surprising team: Does Florida count? Does Jersey? If so, that's my pick. I've seen Buffalo picked for a bottom 5 finish, but I think they're significantly better. They won't make the playoffs, and probably aren't quite at the "challenge for a wildcard" yet, but they'll be in the top 20 teams.

Most disappointing team: I'm going to guess Pittsburgh may actually miss the playoffs, or just eke their way in.

The Leafs will finish: 2nd in the division and conference.

The main reason for this is: October Freddy. Matthews missing 10-15 games.

The biggest surprise will be: Ceci will be the best defensive partner Reilly has had.

The biggest disappointment will be: facing Boston in the first round again.

The unsung hero will be: Mikheyev, just so we can't afford him next year.

The goat will be: still on the 4th line and unable to skate.

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Kappy. I haven't seen so many breakaways with no goals since Grabner.

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Marincin. Watch him be a rock on the bottom pair with Sandin.

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: Kadri for Barrie and Kerfoot.

If I was GM, I would have: let Nylander sit out last year. Bet Matthews and Marner would have signed for less after seeing Kyle means business.

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: they're going to lead the league in his for.

The Leafs will finish: 2nd in the Atlanctic, 2nd in the East, 4th in the NHL.

The main reason for this is: They slightly improved over last season and will have a full lineup from the get go.

The biggest surprise will be: Kapanen scoring 60+ points

The biggest disappointment will be: Kerfoot, who will be a huge drop from Kadri.

The unsung hero will be: Andreas Johnsson

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: The Barrie trade. Replaced Gardiner and lowered the cap.... was awesome.

If I was GM, I would have: The only black mark on Dubas this summer was signing Marner for a little too much compared to the market.... but it's not that big of a deal.

The Leafs will finish: 3rd in the Atlantic, 4th in the east

The main reason for this is: Great goal scoring, still give up too many shots, under-par backup goaltending

The biggest surprise will be: Cody Ceci will be better than Dion Phaneuf

The biggest disappointment will be: Sandin will be sent down

The unsung hero will be: Zach Hyman as always

The goat will be: Matthews with 80 games under his belt

People think this guy is good, but he sucks (and the reason is): Mikheyev, Babcock loves him so he's a young version of Glendening

People think this guy sucks, but he's not so bad (and the reason is): Nylander, good neutral zone play, creates turnovers

The best move Dubas did in the off-season was: Getting Barrie

If I was GM, I would have: Traded Gardiner or his rights for SOMETHING

If you remember nothing else I said, remember I said this about the 2019-20 Leafs: They have a lot of potential, and yet it feels like there's something still missing, I don't think they make it past the 2nd round, and would bet against them in the 1st
