Carol Schram: Boeser & Fantenberg in concussion protocol as Canucks host Sens in rematch The Vancouver Canucks return to Rogers Arena on Wednesday for their rematch against the Ottawa Senators. They'll be without Brock Boeser and Oscar Fantenberg, who were both placed in concussion protocol after suffering injuries in Monday's game against the Senators in Abbotsford.

Thanks Carol. To be the man, you have to beat the man........so on Hockey Buzz, you are the man!

Ok...if Brock is on protocol at season start, wouldn't it be good to see bubble players who are fighting for a spot to play when it counts?

Heres Yoda singing about seagulls.....

It is odd for sure...

He probably heard that fans were pissed at him for not standing up for one of his young stars and calling him a wussy.

Again, Benning's first question if there was an interview should have been, are you a wussy?

It should have been...

JB; Are you a pillow biter?

TG; No

JB; That's okay I am.

Thanks Carol,

Good to see Eriksson isn't dressed. I assume that means he's on the opening night roster.

Goldy Sutter Virtanen might be an interesting 3rd line but expect Eriksson to replace Goldy.

Leivo Pettersson Ferland
Pearson Horvat Miller
Eriksson Sutter Virtanen
Schaller Beagle Motte
Baertschi

Goldy, gaudette sent down
Roussel, Boeser IR

Northy:

Has anyone ever traded for a player with downside?

Not specifically targeted at you, just I dunno why so many people use this term, it's one of those mean-nothing phrases.
- NorthNuck

Pittsburgh traded a player with downside and a third round pick for Bonino, Clandenning and a second.

Florida traded a player with downside and a fifth round pick for Jared McCann a second and a fourth round pick.

It isn't common, but it does happen occasionally.

I think Eriksson is a lock to make the team. I could see Leivo winning that 3rd line spot. JV18 and Goldy on waivers to Utica

Who was that? The guy they just put on waivers to send to the AHL?

Though in this case, Vey hadn't already achieved career highs in the NHL

This is a funny situation. The narrative is a) win the job b) they will make room.

I never in a million years though they would send Gagner to the minors last year. If they aren't truly willing to send Virtanen to Utica, then he really isn't fighting for a job. People are worried about losing him on waivers, don't care about Goldy. For me, it's six to the half. Losing one guy is the same as losing the other guy. It doesn't matter to me that they drafted one and traded for the other. Same same.

I agree #narratives are fun.

PR trumps your narrative in this case.

It would look bad, I agree. Though, the selection has never really looked that good.

I think a decent enough of the population on here and throughout the fanbase and media liked the pick for a number of years.

Virtanen forgetting "his stuff" when he got sent down was the turning point IMO for most reasons able fans. It was an inexcusable mistake.

Not very mistakes are inexcusable. If he got 30 goals this year, pretty sure most if not all would forget about all past drama

Because he should have enough trade value to get back a 3rd or 4th round pick.
