Looks pretty damn good for the Blues - NorthNuck
I think the Canes came out better than the Blues. 7 years to a 27 year old Dman seems a tad sketchy to me. I also think Faulk is over rated, but thats just me. |

its sad to think that IF Miller ends up being bumped down to 3C (unlikely at this point, by just hypothetically speaking), people would still whine about the cost of acquiring him, and Green's coaching, but in reality, if Miller does get bumped down because the top 6 is successful without him in it, I don't see it as a negative. I don't remember the Canucks having 3 capable scoring lines since the 2010/2011 team. I think this Canucks team has very 3 capable scoring lines, and that is something to be very excited about. - Codes1087
Geez, when was the last time Canucks had depth at centre? 2010 - 2012?
I won’t whine about it. |

That’s true.
But at least we can start to make concrete statements about performance. So difficult to judge a players true ability during preseason.
If I was a coach I would lock down the roster as soon as possible and limit the amount of actual preseason games. I always thought it was a bit of a money grab by owners more than anything else. - bloatedmosquito
I actually think most coaches would prefer an even longer camp if it were their choice. |

I can’t remember the last time I’ve disliked a Canes move outside of the Flames trade.
Still can’t believe they got Nino for a cap dump |

agreed most of the games are gimmicks anyway. canucks have already played games in like 6 different cities including 3 non-nhl cities
if i were commish id cut a week of preseason play to 3ish games and keep the roster/cap compliance deadline where it is (so somewhere like 4-5 regular season games into the year) so they can still tinker/evaluate but games are taken seriously |

From last blog, on waivers from Philly today.
Interesting player.

I saw your reply a little late(like two blogs) you can take her she isn't the best cook but shes' a lot of fun lol
On another note I like the look of the team even with the Virtanen and Goldy issues.
I hope coaching and management don't worry about feelings and make a decision for the team. I think as for Virtanen he needs the come to Jesus talk. |

preseason to me is nothing more than line experimenting, working on special teams, and the new guys to get used to new coaching systems. If you are able to come out of it with no injuries, its a win, if you are able to string together a few wins, bonus. - Codes1087
That’s what I’m saying. Kind of like the all star game. How can you truly judge performance when there are so many factors (other that the players ability) affecting the outcome.
Details are foggy, but remember when Burrows played in a beer league in off season and punched out some guy during the game. He got into a lot of trouble for that. Preseasons kind of like that. Stars competing with scrubs.
Then we try and find hints in what management is saying during preseason, and that ends up adding more confusion and questions.
Can’t end fast enough for me.

Camp or preseason? I kind of see them different. I remember a time when they would have two camps; one for prospects, rookies, and scrub invites. Then the few who make it out of that used to join the main camp with the fixed roster players.
Now it seems with preseason games, coaches keep guys around who really have no business being there.
Give me a long training camp without the games. It would make the first game of the season truly interesting. Kind of like boxing, who knows what going to happen. |

When I was a season ticket holder with the Canucks they used to make us buy all the preseason games. Now that was before they started to move it around. They used to have the “rookie” camp in some other town but all preseason games were at GM Place.
There was like 3 or 4 home games at regular season game price. That used to piss me right off. Told the Canucks that for 10 years. |

I would've liked to at least see a scrum with a face wash but that won't happen unless Roussel or Ferland are out there. |

offseason training has changed and preseason should change to match. they go from on ice skills training to scrimmaging in da beauty league then preseason games. guys dont play every game because they dont need it
i also think the league is overcoached so less preparation time would make it more entertaining to me |

So with Brock Boeser in concussion protocol, that will almost certainly be the end of his pre-season, and his status for the season opener next Wednesday will be in doubt. #Canucks |
