(frank)ing Bears! At least they've only soured my mood at the end of the week vs starting the whole week off with a loss.
Thanks for the early morning blog to get things going in a different direction TC!
Along with the three you mentioned (Dach, Boqvist and Hagel), I'd like to see what Kurashev and some of the other dmen do. |

Great stuff Tyler!!!
Yes, I really hope Dacjh stands out. 3rd overall, we NEED him to be the "Real-deal". And, even if he doesn't make the BIG team now, it would be nice to see him dominate a little against this type of competition.
My guy to watch is Entwhistle. I have liked him as a future 3rd line power-forward who can mix it up and possible be a 20 gaol scorer at the NHL level. I hope to see him be strong along the boards and maybe bury a few.
Hope I can find the game tonight to stream!!!!
Again, keep up the great work Tyler!!! |

Me too...same with Boqvist, given that he was a top 10 pick. I've been following the organizational prospect ranking articles in the Athletic, which I believe just wrapped up with the NYR's #1 overall according to them.
The Hawks were rated 10th in the league by Pronman but I've been finding it interesting that the Hawks had no one who graded out "Elite".
He had Jack Hughes grading out as "Special" and Kakko as "Special/Elite Bubble"; but there were some other guys from this past draft particularly Turcotte and Byram who were given "Elite" grades.
I'll have to look back at his site to see where Wiz had some of these guys and I know he wasn't high on Byram but I find it curious how before the draft Pronman didn't have a clear cut number three or four, yet those two (Caufield too) graded out "Elite" and Dach just at "High End".
Seems to me he had the same half dozen guys lumped together that everyone else did after Hughes and Kakko being taken. |

Talking about Caufield, please don't get Darth going.
I'm want to see what Beaudin brings on defense & Kurashev on offense. I want to look beyond the usual suspects.
The Bears losing sucked, but I had a bet with my gf (Packers fan). It got a lot worse for me. |

https://www.foxsports.com...-6-10-live-streams-090519
Oh and, at least Bears haven't locked Trubisky up for 135 mil............ - vabeachbear
Thanks for posting the link for the tourney.
I didn't post it as I wasn't sure if it'll work for all but I believe I used this one last year.

Thanks hawk35!
Entwistle might even wear an A on his sweater as well. The kid knows his role and is a leader! |

The 2019 draft reminds me a lot of the 2017 draft. There was a consensus for the top 2 picks and uncertainty after that. As it’s worked out picks 3 and 5 seem to be better than 1 and 2 in 2017. There’s also the chance that 4 and 6 are better than 1 and 2 as well.
That’s not to say Dach will be better than Hughes or Kakko but he could be better than most people anticipate.

Kurashev is the prospect I’m most curious about. He could be a steal and top 6 forward. I doubt he plays in the NHL this season or possible next, but the kid definitely has talent. |

There is another name needing to prove himself this season - at Traverse City and at Rockford - Derek King.
No matter who makes the top team, several important prospects are going to pass thru (for however long) Screw Machine City - and King will be in charge of their development.
I don’t think that the Hog experience has passed many players through to Chicago since the Kane / Toews / Keith / Etc. run began over a decade ago.
That needs to change. |

Tyler, another great blog, informative, factual and undoubtedly it will generate lots of dialogue. I thought for sure during the summer you would either, post infrequently or your blogs would be mudane and boring. I was wrong! You have managed to find topics to generate discussion without resorting to the nonsense we have seen here in the past with bogus made up rumours and fake sources and inside knowledge. |

Good point! I think we can forgive the system for not developing players when the team had solid players in the lineup and when the Hawks were drafting so low as well as giving up draft picks and prospects in an attempt to continue winning. Now we must see Rockford develop young prospects, hopefully King can do with Boqvist and Beaudin how Yawney worked with Keith back in 2003-2005.
