But...While Montreal will be better than Anaheim...I still don't see them as a playoff team. Thus really eliminating Price from contention.

Plus they can't compete defensively with teams like Dallas.

Bishop if healthy will put up numbers good enough that he may be able to compete with Vasi...

They are a lock for the playoffs and likely top 4 in the East. Not sure they are better than Washington.

The big problem is they have to go through the two best in East and maybe the league...in the first two rounds.

I understand what you're saying but I disagree. I think this Leafs team is head and shoulders better than last year. Subtracting Gardiner, Zaitsev and Patrick Marleau's corpse and replacing them with hockey players was a big step.

Their core is also still moving towards their prime while Boston's is moving out of it.

We all know that isnt true. That team was 1 point away from missing the playoffs. Tampa is the best team. They went into a slump near the end of the season, it is that simple. Columbus was not push over either, they were a strong team for a WC team. Their additions at the Deadline paid off in that series.

At the end of the day, good teams that don't win it all are not the champions, and that is the goal. One team skates off the ice having not been eliminated, that is the objective.

Ander5en finished 10th in Vezina voting, sounds right to me. I think he's a consistent top 10 goalie in the league, exactly what the leafs needed after 12 years of garbage in net. He has not performed well in game 7s, but hopefully he can change that this season
