5 goals in 7 games in the playoffs. is that good? - lonnyBohonos
He didn't know he scored 5 goals because he didn't notice him. He might have missed the playoffs this year, because he's still using a 2017/18 Matthews insult. |

The answer of best duo in the NHL is Marchand and Patrice. They are very strong together both offensively and defensively. They are just as dangerous on the PK together.
Matthews and NYLANDER |
|
|
|
Nylander may only have hit 61 points, but he's the only player in NHL history to hit 60 as a rookie, then match it as a sophomore, despite a 50% decline in PP points.
Plus, the guy he is responsible for setting up leads the NHL in goals. So you are free to disagree, but it's a reasonable opinion.
Kucherov is awesome, but Tamps scored a crazy 28% shooting percentage on their power play last year. I also try to factor in future performance, which is why I don't have the same answer as Todd.
Nylander is one of the best possession drivers, and scoring chance creators in the league, and he plays with the best goal scorer. Both are getting better. - James_Tanner
No, it’s not, it’s a completely moronic opinion designed to get hits......like 98% of what you post on here. |

for last year, 100% correct.
Going into this year?
W.Nylander is not likely to shoot 5.4% again. he is extremely talented.
matthews will likely be the best C in the Atlantic this year. a good season from nylander, and tanner's statement isn't a stretch. |

I stand by my statement......not even the best duo on that team
Matthews is elite, no doubt......nylander is not |

How is Nylander not elite? He's franchise player material. One year of bad shooting percentage and everyone thinks he sucks it s crazy |

Who said he sucks?
But if you think he’s a franchise player, you’re even more insane than most people think.
So far he’s shown that he’s a 20 goal, 60 pt player.........he won’t be elite until he can show he’s more than that.
If he isn’t a 40 goal guy, or a 90 pt guy, or an elite overall guy (Stone, Bergeron) then he’s not an elite player (relatively speaking) |

In Tanner's defense (cannot believe I just typed that!), Arizona might actually try to build their "franchise" around Nylander!! |

Has this Tanner dude ever watched a hockey game? Nylander?......LMAO |

Bergeron:
2016 - 2017 54Pts as a veteran with Pasta and Marchand
2017 - 2018 63Pts as a veteran with Pasta and Marchand
Nylander:
2016 - 2017 61Pts as a rookie with Matthews and Hyman
2017 - 2018 61Ptsl as a sophomore "mostly" with Matthews and Hyman
I'm not saying Nylander is elite or that Matthews/Nylander are the best duo...but when you guys start spewing bullsh1t at least take a look at the stats. (Couldn't do last season for obvious reasons)
You think Bergeron is definitely elite?
You think Nylander definitely sucks!
Got it.

A. Point out where I said Nylander sucks?
B. Bergeron isn’t elite offensively, but he’s very good offensively, and the best defensive forward in the league.....so overall, he’s elite.
Every single GM in the league, including Dubas, takes Bergeron over Nylander RIGHT NOW (if they’re trying to win)

You sure about that?
Pretty sure there are at least a handful of teams that already have a solid center without a good winger that would want a YOUNG dynamic winger/center more than an aging, great two-way center for a year or two... almost elite center IMO.
Edit: and yes you're right, I was wrong, you didn't say sucks....felt like it was implied by the combo of posts. |

After next year it's going to be between the Fla boys and Leafs. |

His #’s are not very good away from Matthews, AHL caliber with over 500 mins away on his 1st 2 years with AM.
He doesn’t suck, but he’s far from a “franchise player”

@Tanner: Usually I don't find your opinions as biased or as ridiculous as a lot of people on here. But this one is a ridiculous comment by including Nylander, whose highest total yet is 61 points? Come on. He's just not that good. This is just provoking and I took the bait!
Point/Kucherov or Stamkos/Kucherov, whichever.
Barkov/Huberdeau
Bergeron/Marchand
Tavares/Marner are better.
Eichel/Skinner
Matthews/Nylander just above Larkin/Mantha. Only because Matthews is much better at scoring than Larkin.
But Larkin/Mantha are both individually better than Nylander. - quinneroma

To be fair, that season he was a point per game player basically. Only played 64 games. |

Is Tampas duo Point/Kucherov or Stamkos/Kucherov? Either way both are near the top as well.

Bergeron / Marchand is awful tempting
Point / Kucherov seems like a pretty obvious choice
Marner / Tavares are close
Matthews / Nylander have quite a bit to prove before being in the discussion
I think it is pretty clear that it is Max, better-than-Laine, Domi, and Ryan, Mr. 246, Poehling. |

Wow! If Nylander is An "elite" franchise player. with 60 points ..Just think how good Schmaltz will look when he scores 90+ points for the Yotes!
And nowhere on this blog has anybody said willie sucks....ALSO...Nobody in their right mind is calling him "FRANCHISE" material without at least another exceptional year. (besides you). |
