Sure, why not. PTO, or 1 year 900K so you can bury him in the AHL if things don't work out.

AHL team could use some toughness. Better be four defensemen injuries into a playoff run before we see him on the Flames.

What does it mean for Alex Yelesin though? Is he even in the plans if they intend on signing antoher RD?

Yelesin really stood out at prospect camp & could surprise many. Nothing wrong with adding a bit of cheap depth that can bounce up & down with Stockton without impacting the cap. Management & coach are pretty high on FatRas, I really do think he will be pencilled in for a good chunk of minutes with Gio. if so Brodie bounces down to the 3rd pairing as they wont change Hamonic & Hanifin pairing. At 4.6 mill on the 3rd pairing wouldnt be great cap management. I see a deal where Brodie gets moved in the near future prior to training camp.

My thoughts exactly. No such thing as too much depth, especially on the blue line, and at worst bringing him in adds more competition on the right side. On a cheap one year you can easily bury in the minors I don't see much of a reason not to.

I don't see much movement until some of these Rfa are signed. Once teams know what they have left to spend we won't get real value for Brodie. Might not happen before Christmas. Moving Frolik frees up enough cap to sign Chucky and operate for the season. So unless it's Brodie for a top 6 winger it could be a while.

Would you guys do Brodie for puuj? Just curious, we lose the cap hit, get a player that could just use a change of scenery. Oilers get a dman they could desperately use? Thoughts

With Hammer and Brodie both on expiring contracts, Yelesin might be on a season long tryout for next year and beyond. He signed a two year and he's rfa at the end of that.

The Oil would have to add a lot! At least a 1st. Brodie is a top 4 D whatever your opinion of him. Ooo has done nothing at the NHL level and seems to think he deserves an NHL position.

agree if we’re trading Brodie it’s not for a project.

I have no problem trying to get Puuj but Brodie is way too much & Oilers dont have the cap to fit him anyway. He would also help them too much as well.

I saw Alex Petrovic a lot in Florida. He is a 5 on a scale of 1-10. Servicable nothing more, nothing less. He will throw his body once in a while.

I would rather they get benson from edm then puuj

Or better yet use Brodie or Frolik to get someone like Kole Lind and a pick. Similar player to Benett but a RW

No to Benson, saw too much of him in junior, never once did he dominate the games I saw him. Kole Lind has talent but in no way is he like Bennett. Again if we’re trading Brodie for a player it better be a top 6 coming back.

If we're trading Brodie it better be for a Top 6 forward. Remember he has already been traded for Kadri so I would expect nothing less than that coming back. That deal may not have gone through but it does give us an idea of what kind of deal Tre is looking for if we move him, and some project forwards or some prospects and picks isn't that.

I don't necessarily have a problem with trading for Puljujarvi, but Brodie is waaay too much.
