Hextall is light years away from “Minnesota Nice”, but he’ll build you a hell of a farm system if given a few seasons. |

Well who else was going to take the blame ???
Nonis is available and we’ll throw a 2nd in as well.
Chia pet must have Bettman on camera doing nasty things to keep getting chances in this or any league. |

As a hockey fan, I can completely understand this. From the sounds of it, Fenton was like fingernails on a chalkboard to everyone. Couldn't motivate players, coaches, front office personnel...it's good that he was let go, before the Wild franchise was so buried that it would take decades to resurface.
As a Wild fan....I don't know what to say or feel. Yes, I was very dissatisfied with the moves Fenton had made so far (with only the Coyle/Donato trade giving some small hope). But to let Fenton work the draft and the FA season, then let him go? This reeks of complete dysfunction within the Wild organization. If exit interviews showed such an extreme distaste from EVERYONE for Fenton, the move should have been done then. Is Tom Kurvers going to get a chance at this? Can he even work in this capacity since he was diagnosed with lung cancer?
Do candidates like Tom Fitzgerald, Bill Guerin, Norm Maciver and Bill Zito, who have no actual GM experience become the prime candidates. Or is it someone who has had experience like Hextall, Lawton or Dudley (a firm NO on Chia or Snow) become the go to targets. Right now, the Wild are a mess, and I can't see an experienced GM who would really want this job. I was really looking forward to the upcoming season, but with this much dysfunction coming out, I am really glad I have college hockey (in the form of the UMD Bulldogs) to follow this season...and the fact that Minnesota has some of the best (if not the best) high school hockey in the world.
Mr. Craig Leipold, would you like me to run the team? |

I should have added this before. Just to show how much this dysfunction with the Wild organization is making me tune them out....I am actually more excited for the Timberwolves season to begin than I am the Wild. |

That may very well be the best thing that can happen to the Wild right now. May not be a major market, but it is good and passionate and an attendance hit might get Leipold to stop being such a dippoop. Not likely, but at least he would know he can't fill the house no matter what. |

The rumors were true... Chiarelli received an interview according to Russo. I hightly doubt that this comes to fruition but on the .0000000001% chance Leipold does something this stupid after firing Fenton, I'm becoming an Avs fan. |
