I think JD left Columbus on very very good terms and they need players and picks, they pretty much had a mass exodus after season ended

maybe something where Nam and/or Strome getting traded there is a possibility

- jimbro83

Yeah, both those guys would fit under torts style too

Bruins have $7.3M to re-sign Carlo, McAvoy. Barring somebody Labanc'ing themselves, B's will have to make a trade. Backes ($6M), Miller ($2.5M), Moore ($2.75M) all seem like options. Still maintain belief that you're insane if you consider trading Krug/Krejci for pure cap relief

I think the Bruins would have to add significantly to deals for those first three guys. Backes is injury prone and makes way too much money. Miller is coming off several major injuries and isn't that great to begin with and Moore is hot garbage.

Backes, woof, he has an 8 team list that he accepts a trade too, or in other words a 22 team NTC, along with a 6 million a year for two more years with a buyout that saves no money

Yeah imagine that negotiation would be pretty hilarious.

"OK, send us a 1st and a prospect with him"

What are you going to send in return

"I'll give you three high fives, to be cashed in at a time of your choosing. Final offer, take it or leave it"

The drop in the expected cap from 83 to 81.5 million is having a huge impact, the depth of which is still to be seen.

I have little interest in Turris due to the $ and length remaining on his contract.
Granlund is interesting, but at $5.75 million and then up for a bigger deal, unless Nash eats $, don’t see that working.

Buying out Strome and Nam doesn’t provide enough cap room unless Gorton gets ADA and Lemieux at a Labanc like contract.

Strome and Nam would save about 5 1/2 combined. Once you bury Belesky, it puts you in the ballpark. I also think that Fox and perhaps Hajek start the year in Hartford. It would be close, but I think that would about put us there.

We add 1 million but maybe we get them to take Nam as well, then we would be subtracting 3 million. I think a team like Minn could use Nam, they have plenty of cap room and need depth.

So I'm confused. Ian lent stewart 6k but he has absolutely no way to contact stew. Stew wants to punch him in the throat

I think Columbus turns this down for two reasons: I think they like Anderson too much and Kreider doesn't really give them an upgrade. I know in your case Georgie is the sweetener, but they have two goalies on one way contracts. They would really have to believe Georgie is their guy if they agree to it.

hopefully it's a trade with Nam without salary retained and not a buyout

definitely a tough spot though

but, in the end, it will be figured out and this season is all about bringing in Panarin and watching Kakko and Kravstov anyway

Kreider and Anderson are a bit of a wash with Anderson being younger. Georgie is the sweetener like you said, their goalies suck.

Why buyout Strome? He has zero trade value also? I don’t get why we would have to buyout Strome or Nam, you can’t tell me no team would want Strome for a mid round pick, same for Nam.

if the Rangers buyout Strome and/or Nam, that will make it perfectly clear they couldn't get a mid round pick for them

Strome at 3.1 isn’t bad at all. He played well last year, I don’t see any reason a team wouldn’t want him and have zero problems keeping him at 3.1 this year.

we are just pointing out that his buyout is ridiculously low, every single one of us would rather trade him than buy him out, I assure you

I don’t think we see any trades until we get closer to Buch and Trouba’s arbitration dates. This is guna be a boring few weeks!
