Id still take a chance on PooPoo. I look at him like Gusev, two years bridge deal..doesn’t work out you cut bait

Just to touch more on Turris, the idea also is to leave him exposed to Seattle. They’ll need to take on salary and get some vets, Turris for them would be perfect at that time. However, I don’t know who else the rangers would be exposing...but that is half the reason Id want him for Shatty

Shestyorkin is exempt and Hank’s contract will be gone so we can protect Georgiev if he’s still here.

Fox Lundqvist Miller Rykov are exempt. Protect Skjei Trouba (likely a NMC) and either TonyD Hajek or Lindgren. 2 of the 3 would be exposed.

Kravtsov Kakko are exempt. Zib Buch Kreider Panarin would be protected. Chytil Howden Andersson Lemieux (1 of the 4 would be exposed unless 1 was traded).
Looks like we’ll likely be losing a defenseman bc of how many were exposing but so much can change in the next 2 years.

Ottawa could be a landing spot for Nam. They have a ton of picks and cap space and need to fill out their roster. If we move Nam and buy out Smith that opens up $7.4M to sign Buch, ADA and Lemieux, assuming Trouba takes up all of the $8M we have available now. That's gotta be close to enough if they're just doing bridge deals

I think trading Nam and buying out Smith is the most likely way they end up going

I really think Shatty is here for another year

The AVs also have a ton of cap space and Nam could be their 4C.

I’d even give them a wink wink asset if it were a Turris I’d wanna lose and give them a 2nd rder or something, rather then lose any of the youngsters. It is down the road, but they should be proactive in thinking about who to expose. We got very lucky with Lindberg

The Avs still have to sign some guys, namely Rantanen, and I'm not so sure they'd be interested in paying $4M for a 4C. At least in Ottawa he'd play higher up in the lineup. Realistically I don't care who he goes to just trying to think from their perspective. One problem is two teams with the most cap space are the Devils and BJs and I don't see them helping us shed cap

I find it hard to believe one year of Nam is impossible to trade, I don’t see it. Much like Vesey.

I think Turris will get traded to Columbus, those two teams seem to trade often and Columbus actually could use Turris, Nashville picking up some of the cap hit

I'm not sure it really makes sense. From Nashville's standpoint they're getting a Dman they don't need and paying $8.6M for him for 2 years including the money they eat for Turris.

For the Rangers they are just taking on another bad contract that is even longer with hopes that Seattle will take him, which you want to incentivize by giving Seattle assets for doing so.

From Seattle's perspective, if we are exposing one of our younger Dman (Hajek, ADA, or Lindgren) and Turris, why would they want Turris? He put up 23 points in 55 games last year. I see where you're coming from I just don't think it makes all that much sense.

Chicago is a little weird on the blueline, they acquired Maatta, De Haan and are stuck with Seabrook and Keith forever

but Boqvist is one of best prospects in all of hockey so they got that going for them

Yea Boqvist is a stud. I'm not sure what they're doing with Maatta and De Haan. Just adding more 4/5 overpaid defensemen. I'd also think at this point Jokiharju would be considered a better prospect than Nylander

from what I am seeing the reaction on twitter is about 91% of people think Buffalo absolutely destroyed Chicago on this deal

Problem I'm seeing with trading all the vets away is you have a crazy young forward group and really only Zib, Panarin, maybe Strome as vets. Not a recipe for success if you ask me
