Yeah, I think it is likely going to be closer to $8 million per to get him wrapped up for 7 years, especially with the way salaries are escalating right now. That's what I am expecting. Anything beneath that will be a bonus for me.
Not saying I love that number, but just think that's what it's going to be. - Pete V
yep and that's it, that will be all the cap space
and then I figure it will take another 8 mil to get Buch, Lemieux and Tony D signed so they need to figure out how they are going to do that
not a lot of teams with space to burn right now |

Lemieux and DeAngelo are ineligible for arbitration. Gorton could give them about a $1 mil per, which will save 2-3 mil or so. But that sets them up for arb next year and a huge payday. Other thing I can think Labanc and his agent were thinking. |

Looking at the buyouts, Staals seems like the best outcome. It’s a guarantee one of the SSS guys is gonzo for some space I’d think. Then Nam gets the door and see where they’re after those moves |

that's one of the reasons I wouldn't count out DeAngelo as trade bait
I like him, but with the additions of Trouba and Fox it just doesn't seem to make sense to have him at a sizable cap hit unless it's a 1 million deal
we also need about between 1-2 million free during the season to make callups |

Tony needs to be a better pro. These guys like to have fun, but most know when to tone it down. Apparently he has not yet |

personally I dont care about that stuff that much
I think he has decent trade value and we are in a tight spot, basically as far as I go with it |

I still like Shatty for Turris trade. Nashville MUST RETAIN like 2 mill at least tho. Him on the books at 4 million isn’t awful and he’d be fodder for Seattle eventually, or his buy out isn’t that bad.
I know he sucked recently, but Center depth is still lacking. He played better at the worlds |

I agree, but the Rangers sure act like an organization that is tied to Staal for the duration, so I don't even consider him an option. Maybe JD will surprise us as the "new sheriff"?! |

They’ve shown zero loyalty to anyone tho, I don’t think that’s a factor. The second year (20-21 season) is real bad on Shatty, Staals is way better |

trading for Shatty and keeping 2 million of Turris is an 8.5 million total cap hit for Nashville and they only have 5 mil in cap space currently

Minn needs depth and have a ton of cap space, could be a good fit for Nam. Seems to me like the Rangers are trying to get actual returns for these guys rather than just dumping them for mid round picks. We could get rid of Fast also, that’s 1.85 plus Nam’s 4. |

Quickie's not going anywhere. Not that I think he's irreplaceable, but we have a roster in a state of flux. He's a swiss-army knife that can plug any hole for a short period.
...for only $1.85M.
...and a team favourite. |
