Lol they fail to look at he plays 13 of 14 and then gets hurt, that's why he played 65 games over two years. - ClaudeFather

Still his health is a risk and it is worrying.
Don't think it is a good idea to let Hart play more the 40 games - goenzoy
I was thinking 39 but under no circumstances should he play more than 41. |

Well, good news Nats fans: After a decade of being a terrible byproduct of the terrible Expos, we're the best team in baseball. As of today, team ace and Cy Young front-runner Steven Starsburg has been shut down for the rest of his season after pitching 159.1 innings.
We have no scientific data to support that any more innings would be detrimental to his health, and yes, not playing our best player will probably lead to us getting bounced in the first-round of the playoffs. But we will stand by this arbitrary number that we chose and not one inning more! |

I hope to hell he stays healthy, obviously we are going to find out, I personally just think last year was an anomaly because of the previous years injury, but maybe I'm wrong. He seems like a good dude and should be a good mentor for Hart and a good locker room guy - iroc4me2
He seems like a nice enough guy, and performance wise is a capable backup. That isn't my issue. I just don't trust he will stay healthy. Everyone getting their panties in a bunch is hilarious. |

Yeah you're probably right. Man even when we don't have a goalie controversy, we have a goalie controversy |

Why shouldn't Hart play more than 40 games?
FFS.. he played 31 NHL games last season so you are saying he shouldn't play more than 9 additional games this season? - opeth_pa
we just want to ease him in the NHL schedule
i feel there was a drop off in his play around the 20-30 game mark last year |

I'm fine with it. I honestly think Lyon is probably a capable backup at this point anyway. The thing is that he hasn't been one yet/proved it, so I wouldn't necessarily count on that being the case. - Ftown19125
Lyon has never really shown any amount of consistency at the NHL level. You just never know what you're getting with him. |

Hard to trust he will stay healthy for sure. But he at least ended the season relatively healthy and actually played ok. So maybe a full off season being able to work out and prepare has them a little more confident. The devil you know, so to speak. |

That was a brutal injury. Wasn't there a pic of his leg and it was basically nothing but skin and bone left? |

Fletcher working pretty fast. He gets the RFAs done and he can go to the lake cabin for the rest of the summer.
Nah, Provy and TK are going to take some time to sign I think.
Remember when Provy was going to the Worlds and he wanted to have his deal done before that so he could go? Lol |

So Carter Hart is not the starter this year? - jmatchett383
Yes he should be the starter.
Just saying Hart Elliott as pairing is still a dangerous combination
And it doesn't matter that he played 30+ games last year
At least half of this games he played within "season is toast" scenario situation |

Don't fixate it on exact numbers
Just saying that Hart Elliott pairing is still a risky approach |

If there are 82 games in a season, but Hart shouldn't start more than 40, that leaves at least 42 games where he's not the starter.
So how is he the starter if he's not even playing half of the games? |
