65 games in two seasons is very low, no matter how you look at it.
I’m sorry but nobody should spit shine and turd and convince everyone it’s beautiful. A turd is still a turd. Brian Elliott is a goaltender in his mid 30’s who has trouble staying healthy. He is what he is. - SuperSchennBros
Trouble staying healthy when his is run into the ground. |

If he was healthy I'd have zero issue with it. I think you need a reliable option as a backup when you are playing a young kid as your # 1. - PLindbergh31
Which would cost more, getting everybody in an uproar for spending more |

Brian Elliott is very good when he’s healthy but c’mon with the “He’s not Neuvirth” stuff. Who are you trying to convince, the guys who disagree with the signing or yourselves? - SuperSchennBros
Serious question: who did you want them to sign? |

Nah. Anyone who doesn't go along with it is a troll/hates the team. |

At this point you're just making assumptions. Have you read an injury report stating he is or isn't? |

That is a fair point. - PLindbergh31
I hope to hell he stays healthy, obviously we are going to find out, I personally just think last year was an anomaly because of the previous years injury, but maybe I'm wrong. He seems like a good dude and should be a good mentor for Hart and a good locker room guy |

Only need BE to stay healthy until about mid January at which point he can get hurt and we bring up Sandstrom. |

I also said the same thing 10/11(?) years ago when Stevens put him on the 4th line |

With Elliott it's not a matter of if he will get hurt, it's when.
Doesn't make much sense to go down this road again. - PLindbergh31
It doesnt matter who Fletcher signed because you would be butthurt with whatever decision he made. |

Totally discounting the large chunks he missed due to injury and not looking at his workload when he was playing

Neuvirth is a whole different level of injury prone that has never been seen before. Moose will be fine for the amount of games he gets asked to play. All of his injuries came from starting him for waaay too many games |

Still his health is a risk and it is worrying.
Don't think it is a good idea to let Hart play more the 40 games |

I just don't see an issue with Elliot as the backup for 1 year.
Every single player you are taking a risk with that they could get injured but that isnt the way to approach business. |

Murray around the same age played almost 50 games, I don't see why he can't play more than half a season. His play (and health) will dictate that. |

Why shouldn't Hart play more than 40 games?
FFS.. he played 31 NHL games last season so you are saying he shouldn't play more than 9 additional games this season?

Why?
He has played 63 and 54 games already for Everett. And he played 49 pro games last season.
If he is the starter you play him like the starter. 55-60 games, just like every other #1 in the league.

I'm fine with it. I honestly think Lyon is probably a capable backup at this point anyway. The thing is that he hasn't been one yet/proved it, so I wouldn't necessarily count on that being the case. |

he's been injured, as most on here have alluded to. |
