Rangers fan but wouldn’t have minded seeing Chara win one more cup, he plays the game the right way and puts everything into it. With that said, watching Marchand cry was better than watching Chara raise the cup again. |

I know he's not the captain, but that's how I felt about Jumbo Joe. Obviously bruins fans may feel different, but I really wanted to see him finally hoist the cup |

Sucks that sometimes players dont get the ending they might deserve. For me being an obsessed bruin follower since the 60's the
Final painfully ironic part of this loss is that a player named Oreilly wins the MVP and skates the cup around the Garden and its not Taz.
Talk about someone who deserved better. |

Islanders fan here. Thank you Mike Milbury for trading Big Z and the rights to Jason Spezza for Yashin back in 2001. One of dozens of brilliant moves by Mad Mike! |

You have to respect Chara and his incredible effort and career. Yes it would have been a nice ending to retire on but the reality is there is a slew of truly great players who never hoisted the cup. I’m sure plenty who never even made the finals.
The old saying is hockey is a cruel mistress is true. It’s a heartbreaker for everyone. Except for the Blues this year. First time in like 52 years. |

It's pretty amazing he played through that. His intestinal fortitude is incredible. |

Even when the rumors came out that he possibly had a broken jaw - I didn't expect for a minute that would keep him out of the line up.
Dude is old school warrior. I have so much respect for that. That's a captain right there.

Usually big men dont play sports as long because of the toll on the knees and such. But this Chara is something else. What a career he had.
Good for him and the Boston fans. |

Log time B's fan. I was never mad a Thornton. He had a horrendous front office that put trash teams around him, an angry, idiot fanbase and piece of poop reporters like Kevin Paul DOUCHEpont dogging him at every turn. He deserved better. |

thorton was a great player but we wanted him to be cam neely not adam oates.
Still pooped a brick when I went out of the country for a week, and came back to having no Joe or Samsonov, back before this internet became a "thing"
edit: never liked Dupont, always came across as a knowitall douche.

Anthony Travalgia: A tough ending for a deserving captain
Zdeno Chara confirmed on Friday what we all knew, he suffered a fractured jaw in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. - Anthony Travalgia
Full marks to Chara for playing through a very painful injury.
In terms of raising the cup as high as 2011...the 2019 version of Chara would have resorted to hooking it on the way by (without a call)... |

let it go man, your team always loses, not the Bruins fault.

I'd be OK if KPD and Kirk Minahane got into a head on high speed collision. |

Veteran guys like Chara, Bergeron, Krejci, Rask, and a lot of good young players make the Bruins a team that is respected around the league as winners and a team that will always play hard and for each other.
Unfortunately Brad Marchand and his gutless cheap shots detract from the reputation the rest of the team has earned.
There are too many to list but his punch to the back of the head on Harrington tells it all. Scurrying away afterwards like a rat. |

I hate Chara.
I respect the (frank) out of what he’s done though. A first ballot HOFer.
I bet he’d retire before reporting to the Leafs.
But if we are bringing back Dion, what a pairing! Phaneuf with a chip on his shoulder crushing guys like the Calgary days, paired with Chara, equally as pissed off for being traded to the Leafs.
Yes, my dealer provides quality poop. |
