I know these penalty's are judgement calls but wow, It was a penalty. I cant see how you embellish getting both feet taken out. Yea Bozack was playing the puck but he took out both of Acciaris feet. Unfortunately the non call lead to a goal. Maybe the refs were thinking they let other calls go so they let this one go to?? Who knows. One more win to go for the Blues. I hope they can pull it off.
:edit: and in real time it looks like both his legs were swept. - 77emac77
It slower motion it looks like one foot gets kicked out and then Acciari (sp?) throws the other leg up like he's Anderson Silva and that second leg was quite a delayed reaction.
I don't think it was intentional (never can tell) but without the embellishment of the second leg going flying, it was definitely a penalty.
In this video at about 36 seconds, they show a slow motion replay from the front.
Bozo goes through the left skate, and then Acciari throws his right skate up wildly on his own... looks like a total embellishment... so if the ref saw that in real time that's incredible... - jduran10
If the refs would start calling embellishment calls there would be less "soccer" in hockey. The correct thing to do in this case is take both players off.

Perfect view. 100% agree with the refs on the non-call. Over embellishment has no place in the game of hockey.

The only thing missing from this season and playoffs is someone picking up the puck, skating 80 feet and throwing the puck in the net for the Stanley Cup winning goal. Doesn't matter who wins, just slap an asterisk next to the winner and call it a fluke.

I actually think the Refs did the right thing on the non call. Likely a trip was there but Accari embellished it heavily.
The root problem is that diving and embellishment has become an epidemic. Guys dive and fake so much the refs have to constantly keep that in the back of their mind.
As bad as a non call is, getting goaded into calling a penalty when a guy dives is worse.
Good non- call, and the player playing stops and whines about it. The refs weren't falling for that regardless of if a penalty or not. GO Blues !!!!!!!
no way...it got slewfooted and was thrown completely off balance...yeah he was trying to "sell" the call while trying to avoid a cracked vertebrae or skulll...give me a break...
the guy who sold the call was bozak...he knew it...and sutherland just skated away...
horepoop non call and sutherland should be reprimanded...they also missed resident dippoop marchands low brdige of tarasenko...how these highly expereinced refs continue to miss the obvious these playoffs is beyond...
nhl has to fix it...but they won't...
bettmans answer to everything is the "game is in great shape with great fans...everything is working as it should..."
Lets get real, the Bruins for YEARS get away with murder because of their owner. The fact that Marchand is even still in the league with the crap he's done is astonishing. Lets not forget Patrick Kaleta being black balled by the league years ago for a couple hits from behind. Meanwhile Marchand is putting careers in jeopardy with the nasty slew foots and spears to other players, and he's not even fined. It's a joke. I don't ever want to hear a complaint about officiating out of Boston, they've had it made for years
