Hornqvist is playing with Pettersson in the worlds, he is already the type of player Benning loves, Benning will salivate at the opportunity to acquire Hornqvist.

I would look to dump Johnsson on them with Hornqvist. Probably need to take back Eriksson who has been terrible but we could probably get Virtanen who I think is a Dupuis type player with more size, speed and a better shot. And Erikssons contract is up after this season im pretty sure.

Horny + JJ for Eriksson + Virtanen

Then deal our 1st to Calgary for James Neal or Send them Rust and a pick if they'll do that. Let Malkin and Neal do their thing and let Eriksson play the defensive stalwart on that line.

Do we have the cap to do this? I dunno. But check these lines!

Guentzel Crosby Virtanen
Neal Malkin Eriksson
McCann Bjucksktad Kessel
Simon Blugrars Rust

Great pass, pretty much Karlsson there.

For the record, I'm good with benn and Strallman as players. You just have no realistic idea of how to get them where it makes the Pens better.

And you have no realistic idea on how to make the Pens better either.

Tim Thomas broke out at 33. So, you’re right Vic. He wasn’t 28. He also doesn’t play D. It doesn’t fit your exact narrative

Quotes not working. I think Vancouver being interested in Hornqvist FOR THE RIGHT PRICE makes sense. He’s Swedish, if they sign Hagelin as well then it makes the Canucks deeper.. and more Swedish. Could be good for Petts. They could really use him too. Again though, he probably doesn’t get dealt until after free agency if at all. If the rumors of us moving Kessel are true and we move Hornqvist as well and we already traded Sprong then we have some openings on the right side

Not necessarily. If you state that Tim Thomas is indeed a nobody then it fits your criteria that Nobody breaks out at 28. Also, he’s not 28

Benning loves Lucic, it is known. The amount of rumors surrounding a Lucic for Loui swap are immense. I imagine their phone calls go something like this “No you have to add a pick... no you... no you!” And Benning and Trev just go back and forth

Also, I think you’re way off on Neal. He has minimal value to that team internally. They tried him all over and it didn’t work. They’re going to want him moved. I don’t think he has negative value because he had one season of a low shooting % but many people disagree with that and will start fires if you say he has anything other than negative value

I haven’t seen much of Eriksson play, but I’d gladly do hornqvist and jj for just Eriksson. I know Eriksson stated he isn’t on the same page as his coach and seems frustrated with his usage, so maybe Vancouver would be willing to make a swap

Trade Murray for a small fortune while his Stanley cups are still fresh in the minds of gms and pick whoever you think will be good with the 21st pick.

man, Carolina is a ton of fun to watch. Reminds me of our old teams back in 2008 & 2009. So much speed, energy, and youth just playing hockey.

Trade useless Malkin for 22nd overall.

Trade 21st and 22nd for 20th

Draft the next David Fischer

- jmatchett383

Why would the kings do this for malkin?

Kings aren’t going anywhere for a couple years.

You don't give up a first to dump a low cost contract though longer term (3.25 is not a lot). Ship him to Ottawa with cash so Melnyk has a super cheap player who can count against the cap floor while we clear the books for the next four years on that deal. Problem solved and Ottawa gets a better crack at the Lottery jackpot next year.
They should hold the pick and develop the prospect. They've developed many others with less draft pedigree.

I think the second one is interference but the first one was garbage and they didn’t call the neutral zone interference on Svechnikov. The reffing seems to favor them often

I think Neal gets bought out. Also I get the Neal love, but he is not the solution to the undisciplined, low energy game that the Pens played this season.

Until they get a bad call against...

Everything in me wants to hate the Bruins but I love Bergeron and Chara.

For me its Blues > Bruins > Canes > Sharks.
