i would accept that Drouin is what he is and do everything i can to juice up the PP in the offseason because that's where he is going to bring his most value to the team. and in a tight road game like last night where you're nursing 1 and 2 goal leads most of the night, i absolutely would nail him to the bench unless the team is unfortunate enough to draw a power play. |

The Canadiens needed a win last night, and they got it... - Karine Hains
Flyers have the 8th best record in the league since December. This was no gimme.
Also, as I said in the other thread, Drouin was solid when he was on the ice. He skated, he fought in the corners and he was involved. |

That being said, last night not only did he not have a single point but he had no shots, no hits, no takeaways, no blocks but at least, he didn't have any giveaways

He had his best game of the season last night

I'd like to meet the people who count hits at these games. Regardless of whether anyone counted a hit, he was involved behind the net and in corners. I'm happy to rip him when he's bad, but he wasn't last night. That said, not sure how he had no giveaways, when he did just that late in the game with his soft pass cross ice. |

Over 73 games Shaw would have a 50 points season.
That's kinda amazing for him |

The season is 82 games. If you're going to extrapolate, why not go the extra nine games? |

I think Drouin is a late-bloomer in terms of mental maturity. He has the raw talent. I would give him one more season to show he is progressing in the right direction before giving any thought to benching or trading him. The kid needs ice time to prove himself, even if he keeps disappointing. Guys with talent like that need to play their way out of a funk and you can't do that while riding the pine.
My advice would be : make him see a personal growth coach, life coach, therapist, or something to help him finish growing up and reach his potential. And let it be known in no uncertain terms that next season is his time to prove himself one way or the other, or he'll be finding a new team or enjoying his buyout while improving his putting.

I'd say put Drouin up in the press box for a game.....but who would you put in?
So limit/cut/manage his ice time accordingly until he wakes up. Light a fire under him and piss him off......see if he actually has character or if he's just in it for the McNuggets.
And i think that was only the 2nd, maybe 3rd empty net goal of the season for Domi? |

It was to point out that he's on the same level as Tatar and Drouin |
