I thought for sure that was plan. Let sandin play another year in the ahl, bring up lili.
But now, im not so sure.
But we'll see.
Remember when lhd or rhd didnt matter? If you were a good dman you could play both sides.

Babcock doesnt agree with that philosophy so there is no point in bringing up Sandin IMO. Unless they make a trade ofcourse, but I think its unlikely to include any LHD.

Does it? They lost quite a lot before Babcock, which included players like Gretzky....do we not all recall the infamous not using Gretzky in the shootouts? |

They won gold in 2002
The 2006 team didnt have jovo or scotty niedermayer.
But ya that 1998 olympics was a mess, hasek was a god and they sat the great one. |

That they did.
They had a goal. They had the best canada could offer and they put their egos aside.
Its what great players do. |

LHD and RHD does matter IMO
Have we not watched ( cringed ) when Hainsey has to pick up the puck off the boards on his back hand and then get it to his forehand in just enough time to just flip it back into the corner? Not that it's costing us goals but it hurts our cycle when it only leaves the D 1 choice...a quick flip into the corner it just came from.

I hate to say it but Tampa may just be that team that dominates all year, gets first seed, and wins the Cup. They're scary.

Depends on the D though.
I thought Muzzin-Rielly was a better top pairing because for whatever Rielly lost in receiving passes on his backhand, he gained in having a competent partner.
Rielly's also a roamer. |

TJ Brodie is a really good defenseman that plays his off side. Sergachev has been playing his off side lately and looked good so I definitely agree that RHD or LHD matters for most, but there are some exceptions to that rule. |

Arizona played them really hard last night. They're a real scrappy, well coached team. |

Ya not too bad, but regardless of who it is....when the puck comes around and the D has to pick it up with their backhand it's really not ideal.

Article on Patty Marlow, he no good.
https://theathletic.com/8...afs-this-season-and-next/
I didnt know this fact, if its true.
He can retire and they can trade his cap hit?
Optimistic Leafs fans will point to the fact that he’s only due $1.25 million in actual salary after he receives his $3 million signing bonus on July 1. This could lead to an abrupt retirement like we’ve seen with Marian Hossa and Henrik Zetterberg (who coincidentally decided to hang up their skates when their salary dropped to $1 million). In this hypothetical scenario, Toronto could look to offload Marleau’s cap hit (paying him zero actual dollars) to a team looking to hit the cap floor. |

Yes. Arizona has done that a couple of times already (Datsyuk recently).
Marleau is TERRIBLE. And people can't shut up about NYlander's contract. Jesus. |
